A first
Thanks for this inspiring comm idea. So inspiring I actually wrote fic for the first time after years of reading. Starting with drabbles, but who knows where this might lead?

Buffy. Unpromising. But at least a Slayer. Two decades of Watching and he has nothing but Potentials to show for it, ageing into the shadows.
One might have anticipated, with the recent high mortality rate, that he’d get an earlier, better chance. An unworthy thought, but he resents the wasted lives to date, the audible barrel-scraping preceding his appointment: “Who on earth is free?” “Well, Rupert, obviously.”
Obviously.
So: to alien eternal summer for Rupert, and a newborn Slayer with the barest training. He wonders how long it will last. She will last.
He gives her three weeks at most.
