William is a clerk in a merchant's house, but he yearns for poetry. A globe sits on his desk and he daydreams of far off lands in the distant beyond.

William dies in a dark blaze of effulgent glory and finds himself lured into the underworld by a bewitching mad woman. He finds himself caught in a whirlwind led by a demon with the face of an angel.

After causing so much trouble in England, Angelus has to take the family abroad in the height of style. William finds that he likes the road. They crisscross Europe on the fastest trains and ate only the creme de la creme of society.

Ducking from shadow to shadow, they laugh drunkenly before returning to an amused Darla and Drusilla who had a very satisfying evening without them.
