This week’s Episodes in Focus are Primeval and Blind Date. Exciting, action-filled eps with bad guys, demons and destinies all over the shop. So from Monday your time, get posting any art, fic, vids, recs, meta or anything else you want to share relating to one or both of our Episodes in Focus.

Episode in Focus: Primeval
In many ways, this is the season four finale: the one with the big fight, and killing the bad guy, where the storylines of the year come to a (fairly) neat and tidy close. So it's bye bye to Adam and the Initiative, and hello to mystical First-Slayer-union-spell, Riley getting his chip out, and a great big battle scene of demons, vampires and soldier boys. Our Scoobies are reunited in the most literal way possible, and between the four of them, find the strength to save the world. Again. And we hear for the first time, just a little about the First Slayer. Intriguing…

Key quote:
Giles: Only I can't perform the incantation for this.
Willow: Right. Don't you have to speak it in Sumerian or something?
Giles: I do speak Sumerian. It's not that. Only a...an experienced witch can incant it, and you'd have to be within striking distance of this object.
Xander: See what you get for takin' French instead of Sumerian?
Buffy: What was I thinking?
Xander: So no problem, all we need is combo Buffy--her with Slayer strength, Giles' multi-lingual know how, and Willow's witchy power.
Giles looks at him.
Xander: Yeah, don't tell me. I'm just full of helpful suggestions.
Giles: As a matter of fact, you are.

Unique qualities are front and centre in Primeval, in a very positive way, as we celebrate what the Scoobies all bring to the Slayer mission and to their friendship. Over on Angel, though, there's a much more sinister view of unique abilities: Vanessa Brewer, who has denied herself sight to make her senses stronger. Do you think these are the right attributes for the Scoobies? How would you label other characters' key characteristics? What do these abilities inspire in you?

Episode in Focus: Blind Date
We really get a sense of Lindsey McDonald in this episode: why he joined Wolfram and Hart, where his limits might be. And in showing us that, we are also shown Wolfram and Hart at their worst: not just defending vampires, but actively soliciting murder of innocents. Yes, boys and girls, this is our Big Bad. But Lindsey's meeting his breaking point, and Angel thinks it's possible to bring Wolfram and Hart down from the inside. Hey, season end is approaching - isn't it time the big enemy was terminated? Or, maybe, does Angel the Series not work like that? (Tune in next week…) Lastly, to keep you guessing, seems there's a prophecy that talks about a vampire with a soul. Wonder where that'll lead us?

Key quote:
Lindsey puts the disk on the table: "I brought the disks back."
Holland: "Of course you made copies."
Lindsey: "A few things. Just enough to keep me safe."
Holland: "What does safe mean to you?"
Lindsey: "Not being at war with Wolfram and Hart - having my own life."
Holland: "Lindsey, - haven't you learned anything? No one has their own life. We're all part of something larger."
Lindsey: "Like Wolfram and Hart."
Holland: "I handpicked you when you were a sophomore at Hastings - not because you were smart - not because you were a poor kid who had to do better than anyone else - but because you had potential - potential for seeing things as they are. It's not about good or evil - it's about who wields the most power. And we wield a lot of it here, and you know what? I think the world is better for it."
