Next week is Graduation Day Part One week!
We’re very nearly there: the third season-ender is upon us. I don’t know about you, but two-parters sometimes blur and merge a bit if I haven’t rewatched lately. So a quick reminder of which graduation-tastic bits were in the first half:
Cordelia hates maroon graduation gear; the great yearbook signing begins with Harmony and Willow bonding; diabolically bearded teacher plays hangman with the graduating class; Faith wears a little pink dress; Anya tells all about Ascensions; Giles and Wesley fence (yummy); Anya and Joyce leave town; Faith shoots Angel nearly-but-not-quite in the heart with mystical venom; the Mayor eats icky spider monsters; the Watchers Council refuses to help with Angel - so Buffy quits; Olvikan is identified as the Mayor’s demonic goal. There’s a lot in this episode on loyalty and betrayal, on belonging to a class, a town, the Council, a family... Oh, and the ultimate Buffy/Faith smackdown ends with Faith bleeding and comatose.
So, quite a lot to play with!
Once it is Monday your time, join us in posting your art, fic, recs, meta, vids and anything else you want to share with fandom that focuses on Graduation Day Part One. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Some prompts to tempt your muse: optional as always
1. Quote to Remember: Sleep with a guy, he doesn’t go evil
Oz: Would it help if I panic?
Willow: (babbling) Yes, it would be swell. Panic is a thing people can share in times of crisis. And everything's really scary now, you know, and I don't know what's gonna happen. And there's all sorts of things that you're supposed to get to do after high school, and I was really looking forward to doing them, and now we're probably just gonna die and I would like to feel that maybe you would ...
Oz leans forward and kisses her, slowly.
Willow: What are you doing?
Oz: Panicking.
Willow and Oz make love on the eve of an apocalypse. Nobody dies. They feel really good. Is this a Whedonverse first? It’s surely something worth celebrating!
2. Creative prompt!: Class of ’99 Yearbook: The Future is Ours
Willow [on Harmony]: Oh, I'm gonna miss her.
Buffy: Don't you hate her?
Willow: Yes, with a fiery vengeance. She picked on me for ten years, the vacuous tramp. It's like a sickness, Buffy. I'm just missing everything. I miss P.E.
Care to show us some excerpts from the Sunnydale High yearbook? (Entries that didn’t make it into the published version, notes from classmates, rejected photos, anything you like)
3. Theme of the week: Faith-Buffy/Buffy-Faith
Faith: Well, look at you. All dressed up in big sister's clothes.
Buffy: You told me I was just like you. That I was holding it in.
Faith: Ready to cut loose?
Buffy: Try me.
Faith: Okay then. Give us a kiss.
Let’s have one last celebration of the difficult world of the Chosen Two. Faith kills an absolutely innocent man this episode. Buffy apparently plans to feed Faith to Angel to save his unlife; and in the end, Buffy uses Faith’s favourite weapon against her.

You have no idea how hard it was to pic a screencap for this episode. So many great moments. Mini-mini-picspam of the runners up under the cut, and this is after some serious weeding of the first cut!
