Next week it's time for Consequences!
There are so many missed opportunities in this episode. Mr. Trick misses the chance to show up with an Uzi, for one thing, right after dissing the competition for making the same mistake. Wesley misses the chance to actually learn something from an experienced Watcher, and instead runs to the Council at the first opportunity. Weenie. It turns out Allen Finch, Deputy Mayor, may have missed a chance to stop the Mayor's Ascension. But the Mayor can't stay under the white hat radar and also loses the "lift" that he gets from shredding damning evidence. The Scoobies flunk communication. Again. Angel tries. Buffy fails. Faith flails. It all falls apart pretty hard. But everybody (mostly) is still standing at the end.
So, once it is Monday your time, join us in posting your art, fic, recs, meta, vids, episode reviews and anything else you want to share with fandom that focuses on Consequences. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Aww, don't cry... here are some prompts to tempt your muse: optional as always
1. Quote to Remember: Trust and trying
Angel: You and me, Faith, we're a lot alike. Time was, I thought humans existed just to hurt each other. But then I came here. And I found out that there are other types of people. People who genuinely wanted to do right. And they make mistakes. And they fall down. You know, but they keep caring. Keep trying. If you can trust us, Faith, this can all change. You don't have to disappear into the darkness.
If Wesley hadn't interfered, could Faith have been brought back into the light? The gray? Angel seems to be making progress with her, but is she too far gone? Does she have "a taste" for death-dealing now? Will she ever be able to come up with a safe word?
2. Theme to Explore: Are Slayers better? (The problem with absolute power.)
Faith: You're still not seeing the big picture, B. Something made us different. We're warriors. We're built to kill.
Buffy: To kill demons! But it does not mean that we get to pass judgment on people like we're better than everybody else!
Faith: We are better! That's right, better. People need us to survive. In the balance, nobody's gonna cry over some random bystander who got caught in the crossfire.
and
Willow: I-it's like all of a sudden I-I'm not cool enough for you because I can't kill things with my bare hands.
Do Slayers usually come equiped with an aversion to collateral damage, like Buffy? If not, then what? The mechanism of checks and balances is pretty opaque in the shadowy super-secret Slayer world.
3. Something to think about:
Giles: Buffy, this is not the first time something like this has happened.
Buffy: It's not?
Giles: A slayer is on the front lines of a nightly war, Buffy. It's tragic - but accidents have happened.
Show us a Slayer (or Watcher) who has made a tragic error in the field. Could Giles be one of them?
