I officially know nothing about teen comedies, the only one I recognized is Veronica Mars ;)

That's one down! I think all teen entertainment must, by law, contain at least one "standing up to a bully" scene. Which I think is great! A very, very essential life truth lies there. *nods sagely*

I recognized Veronica Mars and Clueless but that's about it.

Very clever idea you had there, it was fun reading and trying to suss out who's who.

And poor Buffy, always on duty, even during school. *hugs her*

That's two! Good job!

Yep, Buffy is always on duty, which we don't really see before this episode, but I like to think she wasn't the only one standing up for the regular, human downtrodden. We can all be heroes, if we just refuse to do nothing in the face of injustice!

There's some Glee in there if I'm not mistaken...

Yep. That's three! I'll be ecstatic if anybody gets the forth one, since there is a very loose Buffy connection, though it's much older than the others.

Hah! I wondered if you'd realized you'd stolen a scene from Glee, but then I got to the comments and realized that yes you did. I don't recognize any of the others, but I'm curious to know who the well-dressed kid is who saves the girl over the balcony...

This was a really fun idea. :)

I prefer to think of it as borrowing not stealing! Heh.

The well-dressed kid is from Clueless, which you should immediately watch. It's Jane Austen's Emma plopped down in mid-1990's Beverly Hills, and the writer/director, Amy Heckerling, did an amazing job with it. It's head and shoulders above the teen comedy crowd. So playful! (It's also my favorite adaptation of Emma, bar none, and I usually go for the period stuff in a big way.)

Hee! I loved this. Can't say I recognize very many of the characters (as in, almost none?) but it was great fun.

See? This is what I was saying about being willing to crossover, but I really like it to come from a Buffy place. I know I lose people, but hopefully it's fun enough without intimate knowledge of the source material.

Wild guess: was Riff from Boy Meets World? Otherwise I caught the VM, Clueless, and Glee references right off. Simple crossovers like these are always fun. Thanks for this!

Riff from Boy Meets World?

Nope. Alas, I have no Boy Meets World reference point. You are right that Riff is the fourth crossover character, though! (And no, it's not West Side Story, either.)

I'm glad you had fun with this! Thanks for commenting!
