He’s in the shadows in the crypt, poised between two worlds. Pointed in this direction by a hipster-dressed demon. He wonders if the Powers-That-Be are enjoying the show.
He knows that Darla and The Master are just behind that gate. He knows they’d welcome him back. He’s been alone so long, they look like family to him.
And the Slayer, this golden girl. He doesn’t know if he’s up to taking on a burden to match hers. She goes into the tunnels without him.
He tells the Slayer he’s afraid. He doesn’t tell her it’s of making the wrong choice.
