Well... This Sucks.

Looks like I'll be heading to Sydney soon for another operation, strangely not kidney related but because the doctors think I may have a stenosis (narrowing) of a vein or artery, possibly more than one or worse a blood clot hanging around somewhere.

Talk About Boobs and Health/Life Rant Ahoy!! )

health, rant, transplant

Oh, I'm just so very sorry to hear all of this. Health issues are so tough, especially when they're so all-encompassing to the point where you just can't get away from them in any part of your life. I hope they can find what's going on and correct it and that things will be improving on all fronts ASAP. *sends many good thoughts, prayers, and tons and tons of well-wishes and hugs* ♥♥♥

Oh, not at all, IMO. Having dealt with a ton of health things in the past few years (my grandma had a stroke, my aunt who takes care of my grandma also had a stroke, my mom had a heart attack and 2 bouts of congestive heart failure, both my parents and myself are diabetic, etc.), I know how it is when you reach a point and just need to RAGE about it. You just want the chance to be normal and not have to always be dealing with feeling terrible or having to worry about what's going on or what's coming up, health-wise. :S I think that's perfectly natural. (At least, I hope so; otherwise all the RAGING I've done is going to make me feel bad, lol. ;) ) ♥

Wow, Aislynn, you put into words everything I wanted to say, just so much better! I read this post, Fansquee, horrified for you and wishing I could give you a big (gentle!) hug and make it all better. At no point do you sound even slightly whiny, I'm amazed you keep going at all.
I am glad to know this about transplant patients too, I admit I didn't beforehand.

Yeah, kidney patients are the ones with the very dark sense of humour. Go to Westmead hospital on Thursdays (clinic day) and some of the things said will shock the living shit out of you. The only line that's never cross is bad mouthing donors who aren't living (family members of living donors aren't safe) as... Well, even if you're not religious (I'm not) you don't piss Kama off with being an arsehole about that type of things.
