severina2001 posted a To Do list:
101 Things in 1001 Days - July 12, 2021 to April 08, 2024 which struck a chord with me. Perhaps I too would profit from doing the same sort of thing, only over a shorter time span. My initial thought was a year, but that felt like biting off more than I could chew. Then I thought, nine months? Instead of having a baby...I already did that, three times...I could Get Stuff Done. Nine months could be both challenging and short enough that I might keep at it.
Note: This is a 'sticky' post and will remain at the top of my LJ so that I see it every time I'm here. Scroll past it and enjoy. FanSee
27 Things to Do in Nine Months: July 15, 2021 to April 14, 2022
Reading
1. Get a handle on my existing list of 2021 Reading. Update it with at least the title and author of each book, category (fiction, non-fiction, biography, etc.) and a rating. Thumbnails would be a plus, but are not an imperative.
2. Going forward, post additional books read individually to my LJ
like so, as well as maintaining the year-to-date list.
3. Read the 25 books now in my TBR pile or get rid of any I decide never to read.
4. Choose and read five books from the New York Times Books section, excluding any book I would read anyway.
Movies, TV
5. Watch at least two movies per month except for July 2021 and April 2022 when one movie will be sufficient. Maintain list of movies watched, July 2021 to June 2022.
6. Ask John, Pam, Debbie and Jay, Cherie, and Vickie to recommend a show/program on TV. If an on-going series, watch at least three episodes.
7. Watch three short series, such as "Unorthodox." Ask Judy Amory for recommendations.
Healthy Living
8. In dry weather, walk outside everyday. Try for at least 750 steps. Post steps once a week.
9. In inclement weather, walk indoors: in the garage, the corridor, or...if brave...in the gym. (Ask John for help with the gym.)
10. Research sites, cookbooks for healthy recipes easily made for one person. Start with
Right Size Recipes.11. Ask Pam for sites with healthy recipes, other ways she gets ideas for healthy meals.
12. Investigate groups or clubs I could join where I would meet people (book clubs, discussion groups, etc.), preferably in person but also on line.
Activities
13. Get out camera, see if it works, buy and replace batteries if necessary.
14. Walk to Giant at 23rd and Arch. Treat yourself at the Starbucks to coffee or lunch.
15. Document a trip to Giant. Post to Live Journal.
16. Walk to
Trader Joe's at 21st and Market. Buy five items I've never tried before.
17. Document a trip to Trader Joe's. Post to Live Journal.
18. Get a ride** across the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Walk up to Whole Foods, CVS, PNC. **If possible get John or Jay to take you, then Lyft home.
19. Document a trip across the Parkway and post to Live Journal.
Projects
20. Research possible venues selling additional yarn needed to finish needlepointing hassock cover.
21. Finish needlepointing the hassock cover.
22. Get new hassock cover fitted to the hassock. John? Craft store for recommendations?
23. Determine if there are any more unfinished needlework projects in my closet. If so, decide their fates.
24. Find out if I still have a copy of my childhood memories (birth to five years).
25. Decide on scope of any further documentation of my life up to David's birth. Discuss scope with Ryan and Jill, Lara, and Brenda.
26. Determine whether there are other missing time periods, such as those covered in David's baby book, now in Lauri's possession.
27. Sort out chest, get opinion and price on restoring it if John thinks it's more than he can handle.
