Well, no point tracking movies if you watch at a rate of less than two a month. I reversed both trends with this post. In the six weeks since I last posted, I finished one...one ( Read more... )

Thank you SO much for the recommendations: very much appreciated. I will be on the lookout for Midnight Sky, Mank, Shtisel, and Virgin River. I did see Unorthodox and loved it. My granddaughter will be staying with me until mid-day on Monday (Yay!), but now I have some shows to look forward to once I have sole ownership of the TV again. And feel free to keep those recs coming! FanSee

You're very welcome. It's always great to share my reccs with a knowledgeable person such as yourself. You watched Unorthodox? Such a powerful TV series indeed.

I have some shows to look forward to once I have sole ownership of the TV again.

feel free to keep those recs coming!I thought about adding a couple more reccs to original comment but I wasn't sure if LJ would let me do so lol ( ... )

Reading Goodwin can be daunting. I have Team of Rivals in my pile, but I've already read her No Ordinary Time, about FDR. I really liked it, but there were times when reading it got difficult.

Inherit the Wind is one of my all-time favorite movies. Spencer is superb. I've thought about watching News of the World. Your review has sort of pushed it up on the list. :-) And I tried watching Ma Rainey's Black Bottom because I love both Davis and Boseman. But I just couldn't get into it.

Reading a tome like "Rivals' is a commitment. My granddaughter, Samantha, has been staying with me since Thursday, so I haven't made any more progress on that. 2021 does seem to be my year for non-fiction: after I finish that I have three books on the first World War lined up. However, I will probably sneak in a quick nip of fiction between my ventures into diplomacy and its opposite. FanSee
