Welcome

I was very happy to wake up this morning to ten e-mails in my inbox, all of them from people interested in submitting photos for the project. Additionally, one person has already sent me her photo, and it is amazing. Please, please, keep them coming.
I have been wracking my brains for two days, trying to think of a title for this zine. If the response is large enough that I have to expand the zine into several zines, I will need even more titles (one for each decade/era profiled in each zine). Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, several people have asked about a deadline. And currently, there is no deadline. I am waiting to see how many people respond to my various posts around LiveJournal and other Internet forums and message boards (which reminds me, if any of you are members of any relevant Internet clubs, etc., how about passing this project onto them? It would be appreciated). In a week or two, I should be able to give you a deadline. I hope to have these sent out by Christmas, since they would make nice gifts no matter what denomination one is, so the deadline will probably be sometime at the end of October. That gives everyone plenty of time, but please don't procrastinate!
I mentioned in the User Info area of this community that posting your fan photo here is not allowed, but I would like to post at least one, along with the required personal statement, just as an example of what we are looking for. If anyone would like to be the guinea pig for this, let me know.
Another concern I heard from some people was that they do not resemble their favorite Old Hollywood star. This is not a problem at all. You don't have to look the person you want to pose as; otherwise 99.9% of us would have to undergo major plastic surgery, I'm sure. This is something we want you to do just for the hell of it. Don't let your inhibitions about your appearance get in the way.
Feel free to post here with any comments or concerns, questions or suggestions.
