Mix for Imagine Knowing Me by 26days

Jun 05, 2010 23:17

My first time posting for BBB has been so exciting -- not only do I get to challenge myself to write longer fic and get better at planning my stories, I get presents as well!

This wonderful mix, for example. I'm most impressed by how 26days found music where the mood of the songs fits the mood of the fic so well! Like the deliciously creepy It's Natural To Be Afraid, the so very Ryan-y (Ryan-ish? Ryan-like!) We Have Heaven and of course Boys Will Be Boys, which was probably written for the Weasley twins.

The mix can be downloaded here and the tracklisting is below. Keep in mind that it contains lines from -- and therefore spoilers for -- the fic. :)

Happy listening -- and when you're done listening, go give 26days some love!

Tracklisting:

1. Boys Will Be Boys -- The Ordinary Boys
It was probably their finest prank ever.

2. Wrong -- Depeche Mode
OK, I've decided. You, sir, are an obvious, quintessential and all around perfect... SLYTHERIN!

3. We Have Heaven -- Yes
They would totally have liked his scarves in Ravenclaw.

4. Naïve -- The Kooks
He wasn't sure what Brendon was all about.

5. Fluorescent Adolescent -- Arctic Monkeys
Brendon thought about pointing out that Spencer was eleven, but then decided that although this was the case, Spencer was probably the oldest eleven-year-old he knew. (Unless you mentioned farts, in which case he regressed to six.)

6. It's Natural To Be Afraid -- Explosions In The Sky
THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED.
ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE.

7. I Can't Wait To Come Home -- Dreamboat Money
He just wanted to go home.

8. Home -- The Smashing Pumpkins
This, Brendon realised, was home, too.

9. Power of Not Knowing -- Kings Of Convenience
Brendon didn’t understand what was going on. He’d just wanted to show that the Weasleys were not the Muggle-mingled upstarts Draco painted them to be. And he’d read from a book he’d found in the library-it was official and everything.

10. Everything Will Be Alright -- Golden Ages
Ryan looked at the card. It was large and square and was decorated with a picture of a pair of bluebirds, inexpertly painted. It was also covered in a thick layer of glitter. He opened the card carefully-glitter scattering all around him-and saw the words,

Thank you for being a wonderful friend! I always love flying with you. - Brendon

11. How Do I Fix My Head -- Straylight Run
Ginny was in agony. She had thought she had got rid of it-and then there the diary had been, back again, even thought she was sure she had flushed it away. And it had been in the hands of Harry Potter.

12. 4 Songs & A Fight -- The Sounds
“Well,” she said, “as fun as this is-can’t stay all day, I’m afraid.”

“Who are you?” Jonathan demanded.

“Brendon, get away from her,” Spencer called.

Luna made a soft little noise and fainted.

“One down,” said Ginny, and Brendon’s world went black.

13. Saviour -- Lights
“I don't know,” Luna said dreamily. “I think we helped Ginny a little, don't you?”

14. Good Morning (The Future) -- Rogue Wave
All in all, there was really only one answer.

“Wonderful,” he said, and he beamed.
