If all goes well I'll be posting my new story later today. Wheeee!!
What a long week with LJ being down. I hope the DDoS attackers are traced and prosecuted.
We finished watching Tom Baker and Mary Tamm in the Key to Time season. It was good. It was a really interesting experience going back to watching Tom Baker. Four is so clearly the model for our current doctors (obviously he would be)... but at the same time, he is so much more innocent before the Time War. The dark side just isn't there... at least I didn't see it. He's a hero, plain and simple.
We just started watching season 6 (the first half), which we purchased from itunes for a very reasonable fee. The first ep has a very scary monster, good interactions between the companions, and an awesome guest star that we really love. O hai thar Crowley!!
I really wish I could cosplay as Ten for Halloween this year. I am no stringbean however!!! Last year I went as Kolchak the Night Stalker. I was not widely recognized! My offspring says he would wear a K-9 shirt. :)
My Nine and Rose figures arrived, to join Ten. They have not had any adventures yet. They are still arguing about who gets to stand closest to Rose. She is being very mature about it. The Nine figure is excellent and bears a very good likeness to Chris. Also, pink-shirted Rose looks great and is ready for action! Nine is really not interested in sharing his sonic, and Ten is a little put out. I think he is pouting and hopes it will earn him sympathies from Rose.
One final thing to recommend: we bought the three Doctor/Rose adventures read by David Tennant off of itunes. They were expensive but Well Worth the Money!! We listened to them all while driving on vacation. Tennant is a superb reader, as you might guess. He narrates in his own Scottish accent, which is adorable, but then he also does voices for all the characters with their own accents--including the Doctor, of course!! His soft, femme imitation of Rose is just so awesome!! For most fans I think the Stone Rose is the favorite, but honestly, I thought all three were great.
The Stone Rose involves a lot of time travel and partially takes place in Roman days.
The Resurrection Casket is a retelling of Treasure Island, in Space, with Robots, and has several great twists.
The Feast of the Drowned is creepy, features awesome heroics, and takes place in modern-day London.
It is nice to know that the Boys are back in Vancouver and working on Supernatural (I still love it even though I am taking the summer off. It's just like my semester in England!!)
