Oh holy cow. Nothing makes me squee harder than Sad Guilty Confessing Cas addressing the screen. Squee!!!!!
How much do I love the little salamander and the zapping primeval earth? and somebody has to know what that crazy b&w stuff was.
The angle over the roof of the Impala was very weird, wasn't it Ben?
I loved the Demon Version of Bobby.
I did not love the horrible torture scenes. I have a ten year old here. He covered his eyes for most of it.
second act: I love that guy who plays Raphael. He is perfect. I'm so glad he is there again.
I love the patriotism and the overt linkage of the Angels and the flag. That's what I've been getting at for AGES. Thanks for spelling it out Ben (maybe a little overly blatant???)
I love how Castiel tried to bring Sam back and only later realized his hubris. Yay!! IT WAS CAS, GUYS. WOW.
i love the Angels in their suits as they stand around trying to get Castiel to be their new Boss. Rachel: she gave it a shot. :(
"You love God, God loves you. God chose you to save us all." -- Crowley is truly a master tempter. Man, this ep brings it all home. 0_0 It's the thing that everything megalomaniac hears perfectly clearly. D:
How about Dean's heartfelt speech, yall?? Wasn't that great, how he just asked Castiel to trust him and Not Do It? But maybe not the best idea to just assume Castiel is a "child" doing whatever he wants.... Castiel's moral development is a little beyond that, right? EDIT -- I was trying to remember the earlier time when Dean calls Cas a child -- it's when Sam "tricks" Cas into revealing that he had been soulless. Guess we 'd better view that scene again with a more jaundiced eye, hmmm?
Then I loved the whistling wind at the end, when Cas tried to confess and get guidance from God .... God gives you a little bit of rope and waits for you to hang yourself. Poor Angels, one pities them.
.... I loved how Ben's direction made Castiel seem more and more monumental as the show progressed.
OH, WOW, the spoilers for the finale are excellent, say no more, mum's the word. Now I'm off to read all the Edlund interviews that were popping up all week!! :)
POST SCRIPT. I HAVE HOPE. There are two full hours left. Plenty of time for Castiel to make the right choices and bring himself back into the fold. All things are possible with the (brotherly) love of a good Dean behind him! Cross Fingers!!!!
