I don't usually allow myself to be too spoilered for upcoming eps, because that way lies baseless speculation and unwarranted angst. BUT
since these two upcoming eps are both so EPIC I decided to give in.
I am seriously, seriously psyched for the Js to play samndean playing the Js. PLUS BONUS MISHA. I can't even! I hope there are squeeful fans out there watching this in real time... is there like a chat room where we can comment out loud? Maybe I should sign up for Twitter or something???
Also I was trying to dreamcast Samuel Colt with my husband and we got in the craziest conversation. He says that Samuel Colt was a real historical personage. And I say, what does that have to do with Samuel Colt? And he says, cause he invented the Colt, and I'm like, but Samuel Colt was a Hunter, he wasn't the inventor of the Colt, he just HAD a Colt and like engraved it with Latin and made special bullets out of some Angel's grace that fell during Haley's Comet and he just happened to have the same name as that real historical guy. At which point my husband looks at me like I'm batshit insane. So, okay, I go to Wikipedia, because it is the source of all knowledge. The supernatural wiki says that The Colt is a Texas Paterson 1836, and that it was made by
Samuel Colt in 1835 for a hunter at the time. So, then, the gun is a prototype made specially for a Hunter. Just to engage in baseless speculation-- fifty bucks says that the Hunters for who the Colt was made are Sam and Dean. Right? Not like we haven't been saying that all along. I can't freaking WAIT. Still, it seems like involving Real Historical S. Colt with Hunters is some kind of freaky steampunkish Alternate History. Watch the ep closely for zeppelins, is all I've got to say. :P
Oh, and did anyone else catch that Paterson New Jersey, where the boys just dealt with the mannequins, is the actual home of the real life Colt? The Colt factory was in Paterson and was one of the first assembly lines. o_O Those writers don't miss a beat.
I love that the soundstage ep is called The French Mistake -- a reference to Blazing Saddles... and that it's followed by the Wild West ep -- which is what follows the French Mistake in Blazing Saddles -- they drive off into the West in a limo. :P
Oh BTW, I haven't seen casting spoilers for Samuel Colt, but I hope it is someone really epic, like, oh, Bruce Campbell. Wouldn't that be righteous? But I would also settle for Wentworth Miller. (Somebody HIRE that guy. A man that pretty should seriously be getting more work.)
