Wow. Just wow. You have done an amazing job. You created a palpable feeling beyond despair, beyond hopeless. Just...this was so well done I have no words. You are my new hero!
With a prose poem like this, it's basically a story that ends up becoming so much about the imagery and the language that it starts to break up into lines.... every extraneous word has to be excised.
I just get the impression that Hell was really really different for Sam ... Dean was the focus of so much intentional torture... but Sam is hidden inside the cage with Lucifer where he can't even be seen. It's heartbreaking to contemplate what that could possibly have been like.
