Thanks so much! So many Zep songs must have such a wealth of resonance and emotion for Dean that I want Lisa to be able to speak that language to him.

I bet he just sits and looks through her LP collection sometimes, looking at the artworks.... remember the first Hell House episode, when he pulled out the Kansas album and looked at it? and it took him so long to place the BOC symbol -- cause all his artworks are cassette sized. o_O It was during the nineties, when Lisa would have been in high school, that I collected all the Zep and Kansas albums on LP dirt cheap from used record stores. I saw a copy of Pyromania last week labeled "pristine" that was going for $8 -- the used LPs are back with a vengeance after a relatively short (ten year?) hiatus.

I am not nearly as familiar with Dean's music as I should be...I only know 2 Zeppelin songs...but this makes me want to find more...and it breaks my heart in its poignancy. But he isn't miserable, and that's saying something...

If you tell me some things about the type of music you prefer I could tailor a playlist for you. Led Zeppelin truly has something to offer everyone... for you in particular, you might enjoy starting with Robert Plant's album in collaboration with Alison Kraus, Raising Sand which garnered a fistful of grammies.

From classic Zeppelin I might suggest "Battle of Evermore," a duet with folksinger Sandy Denys from the classic fourth album, or "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," which Joan Baez did very differently on one of her early Vanguard albums, or maybe "Going to California," one of the songs I succesfully courted my husband with. :D

Thanks so very much for reading my little story. "In the Light" is one of my very favorite Zeppelin songs, and Dean would know every second of it by heart -- and so would Lisa. :D

Oh gosh, I'm tearing up again!! D:

Back in the day, Zeppelin had made Dean feel fiery and alive and brimming with confidence. Dean remembered that feeling. THIS. Love this. Glad you self-recced! Dunno how I missed it the first time around.

Music moves me to a ridiculous degree, esp. where this damned show is concerned. "Knock Knock Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a melancholy song, sure, but after that one fireworks episode? I get downright teary.

Thanks so much. Yes, and that sad sad ep that takes place in "heaven" is referenced in my story as well. Poor sad Dean. It was only after SPN used it that i really started to listen to Dylan's version of Knocking on Heaven's door. But it was used so very, very beautifully. SPN has always been, for me, a perfect storm of rock music, lore, high heroism, and mythic resonance. Truly the perfect show for me!!!

I still remember so well the time when my husband and I were first bonding over Zeppelin's "You Shook Me," just yelling it at the top of our lungs ! :D

Well it would have been easy to skip the first time, embedded inside a sprawling AU as it was. :P

No idea how I missed this ficlet. It's brilliant and perfectly, perfectly understated. Well done. And thank you for bringing it back to our attention.

I really was just intending to comment on how fannishness is intertwined into my life, like breakfast and Zeppelin and an old fic coming together. :P But thanks so much for going back to read. It was embedded in the long "Promise" AU that I spun during the summer after s5.

It really bums me out that Dean wrote Lisa out of his life. Stupid of him. I can't imagined any other woman so perfectly suited to him.

You blow me away with your writing even in a little ficlet like this. It resonates and I don't know how I missed it the first time around. Thank you for sharing again.

Thanks so much for reading and for your very sweet comment! It was part of my long "Promise" AU from summer after s5.

It was really hard to find comms for that series. I don't think Dean_Lisa_Love was up yet... maybe not even spn_het, and spn_gen was always very touchy about the het romance. It's one of those little moments where a song that I love created a moment in one of my fics that really pleased me. It's how I picture Dean and Lisa working on the deepest level -- that little shared moment, Lisa's support, Dean's acceptance of a tiny bit of comfort. Sigh!! I still totally ship them in my head. :P

I am a Dean/Lisa shipper too. There aren't that many of us around and we usually have to hide our secret ship! lol

I'll have to go back and read "Promise". :)

It's most AU in the whole "Sam is the demon messiah" way -- my favorite! and doesn't have much to do with Lucifer at all, which is not how s6 really went. I hope you enjoy it two years after the fact! :D
