spn fic: "Ground Rules" (5.22 coda)

May 20, 2010 12:46

She’d given Dean a beer, like she promised, but he’d downed it so quickly that he was now on his third.  It was actually kind of alarming, but while Dean was still standing, his obvious drinking problem wasn’t on her list of things to tackle this very minute. She led him upstairs to her room.

“You’ll be in here.  My room has its own bath, so ( Read more... )

This is perfect!

I love your Lisa's wisdom, and maybe, just maybe she can help Dean to heal!

This is now my favorite coda (after my own :)

thanks very much! I want to just WRITE AND WRITE about 5.22 and the aftermath... but I work best in small chunks, so I am posting them as they come to fruition. Your comment makes me very happy!!

Oh, this is so wonderful. I love the Lisa that you have made, with her priorities, ground rules, and care. Thanks for giving Dean Ben as well. I feel like making you a picture for this I love it so much, but it will have to be later. Deadlines are kicking my butt. But I'll settle for a rec for now.

thanks very much! I wanted to create a real person in Lisa, someone like us! a real mom, with a real mom's priorities -- but in an extraordinary situation. I do really think that Ben would be a powerful incentive for Dean ... and I think Dean is man enough to really try to be good for Lisa too.

I'm hoping to string all my codas into a series, one coherent story, so a banner or an icon would be DARLING. no rush at all though!! YOU ARE SO SWEET TO OFFER. BIG HUGS PLUS MWAH A KISS!! (much Lisa forehead kissing in this fic. Makes me kissy!) :D

I think...I can believe in this Lisa. Not a fairytale princess waiting to be claimed as a prize, not a mother figure waiting to heal widdle Dean's owwies. A woman with her own life, a kid to protect, and the intelligence to make up her own mind, and insist on her own rules. I like your Lisa.

That's high praise, and I really appreciate it! I love Lisa, and I think she has a ton of potential as a character. I think we've seen her be both very strong, with a good spine to stand up to Dean when he's out of line, and very compassionate -- and I'm trying to honor that whole character, not just focusing on DEEEN.

I really don't want her not to ask hard questions. i think she deserves the whole story if she is trying to help Dean pick up the pieces!

My goal is to write THOUSANDS OF WORDS of post 5.22. There's so much lying in wait! This is MY BIG BANG. :D Of course all in little chunks, from different povs.... My actual boy is just one year younger than Ben, but it's a big year!

I think Dean will be a real challenge -- to Lisa and also to himself. Plus, if he makes Lisa cry, which he almost certainly will, Ben will try to kick his ass!!

I just realized that Motel Beer Eat is the exact opposite of what I want Chez Lisa to be. :P

Yes. This. This is why Dean went to her. Not for true love or wild sex or anything like that. But because she is his safe haven, a compassionate, gentle, caring soul with a touch spine and a warm heart.

Perfect, love the way you portray her and how caring and kind she is. This is just how I imagine it would be, for her with Dean.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I think Lisa in canon is very open to Dean -- she likes him, and I think she respects him for what he does, knowing first-hand that he's a Hunter and all that entails. But I also think she doesn't take shit from anyone... so it's going to be interesting to see how she reacts when he starts to shut down, because Dean has really poor coping skills. :P

Your Dean icon is very fetching. :)

Yes, I wonder how much of the Dean/Lisa relationship we'll even see next season, or if we'll step off into new territory right away. Gonna be interesting, indeed ...

Why, thank you! This is one of the first icons I ever made. :-)
