So let's talk about minor characters. Which minor characters do you like and would like to see more of? Which do you never want to read another word about?

Rickon!
I know he's not exactly a minor character, but I really wonder what he's up too and very interested to see what happens with him. On a related note, I'd love to know more about Osha.

I'd say that Rickon is a minor character, actually. He's adorable and I feel so bad for him, though I worry about him too since he and his direwolf are uncontrollable.

Osha! I can't believe I forgot to put her on my list of fave minor characters. Her loyalty to the Starks was an unexpected surprise. It gave me warm, fuzzy feelings which I really needed since everyone was betraying everyone else in the rest of the book.

Oh! I second Osha! It always makes me laugh when she hits Rickon in the bum with her spear.

Another vote for Osha. I really started to like her.

I know the introduction of so many new characters in AFfC isn't popular with a large part of fandom, but I liked it. Aside from the new POV characters and one-shot POVs, there were more interesting minor characters than any of the previous books, IMO ( ... )

I agree with you about Sarella. I'd definately like to see more of her, and I think it's likely that she'll have some part to play in future books.

Agreed on all of those, especially Lady Amerei Frey (cool), Ser Hyle Hunt (cool), Sarella Sand/Alleras the Sphynx (uber cool), and Megga Tyrell (adorable). They'd all be cool to see more development on.

As a side note... are Plumm men just renowned as and genetically predisposed to being priapic and massively endowed, or is it just me? Ser Harwyn has the nickname "Hardstone," after all, and Brown Ben Plumm's lordly ancestor was described in a family fable as having a cock six feet long (an almost certain exaggeration, but it gives the right idea) and seems to have bedded or wedded a Targaryen, if family stories can be believed.

LOL. Actually I think the legend about the Plumm ancestor refers to the fact that someone got pregnant after he died and apparently claimed he was the father. Cersei and Jaime mention the legend when they talk on Tommen's wedding night ( ... )

I'd like to see more Gendry (do I even need to state that or is it just a given?), more Sarella (which I think we'll get, happily), more Queen of Thorns (although I wouldn't want a QoT POV I just want her to make wisecracks every now and again). Um, I'd like to see Old Nan again, because I don't like it when old ladies die.

I really hope Randall (or is it with a y?) Tarly dies a horrible painful death of pain. Lancel is annoying. Cersei must really be crazy to have the sex with him. I don;t like Jorah Mormont either. Creepy.

Randyll is too useful for me to want him dead. Yes, he was an abusive father and he repeatedly insults Brienne, but order needs to be restored to the riverlands and he seems to be doing a good job of it. Besides, I cut him some slack for informing Brienne about the bet.

I don't like Jorah either but I don't think we've seen the last of him. We know too much about him for him to just get dropped out of the story like that, IMO. In fact, he's really not a minor character, more of a secondary one.

Ah, Gendry. Surely Gendry as a character exists for a reason other than displaying teenage angst, looking hot, and providing someone for us to ship adult!Arya with?

Yeah, not looking forward to Jorah either. He makes me go "meh" at the best of times these days. He sure misplayed his hand.

Hmm, minor characters... Does Stranger count? I love that horse. I wish my horse bit off the ears of people who annoyed me. Sometimes I imagine him talking like the Babe animals.

I also love the Laughing Storm. I can't help but laugh along with him. And I like Kevan Lannister. I'd probably bang my head against the wall repeatedly every morning if I my family were as dysfunctional as his is.

I love Stranger too. I love that Sandor loves his horse. Of course Stranger was probably Sandor's only friend. If I knew anything about horses, I'd write Stranger fic.

Speaking of Lannisters, I really liked Daven and Genna.

Three minor Characters I always found interresting:
Gilly. Yeah she came across was insanely whiney at first but she is slowly starting to grow on me.
Jeyne Of Westernling. For some reason I feel there is more to her than was let on.
Genna Lanister. She had spunk. I LOVED her!

I felt bad for Jeyne Westerling in AFfC but I can't bring myself to like her and I liked Robb a lot less after he married her. Yes, they were only sixteen years old and everyone knows how strong teenage hormones are, but their marriage was the single biggest mistake any character knowingly made.

I like Gilly for Sam's sake. He needed to be strong for her and he did it, and I was so proud of him.
