Dragonstone is a WHUT?
One of my friends is rereading the series and stumbled across something... I want to know if it's a typo on her copy of the books or what...
Has anyone else noticed that the stairs in Dragonstone are METAL??
It's in one of the scenes where Maester Cressen is climbing up the stairs in his chambers or something, and he mentions that the stairs are metal. Metal stairs, Valyrians? METAL STAIRS? In a gigantacastle with terrifying huge gargoyle things and the creepy table room that is probably very little to do with having something to meditate on conquests over? Are you trying to kill the servants every winter or WHAT?
So... is this just a typo or are the stairs really metal or is this some sort of strangeness or buried clue or just the Valyrians being crazy? Would they have had a dragon at the top to melt the stairs in case of invasion or what? Escalators?
