It's just a fanvid, but DARN IF IT AIN'T A GOOD 'UN! I mean, I'd go see it even if it wasn't legit. I just hope that when the series finally gets made, HBO can have WETA to do the MASSiVE battle sequences, because GOD ARE THEY FANTASTIC in LotR and Narnia.

The videomaker lists the movies he uses at the very end. I was psyched out my mind that he used shots from "Hero" for the weirwoods. The ones of red-leafed trees and the embedded sword dripping blood. If you ever want your mind to be blown away by stunning cinematography and use of color, watch Hero.

That's some awesome video editing skillz!
The Hero scene had me puzzled, I couldn't figure out where they found a red tree that looked so convincing. Now I want the HBO series badly.

*sigh* I long for it to be made into a series.. though part of me fears that it's going to turn into a CGI-centric mess .. that doesn't focus on the characters enough.

I don't really see how it could turn into a CGI-centric mess (a la the recent "Beowulf" movie), since the series itself is so focused on the characters, unless they want to CG the castles to death. We'll have to let them do the dragons and maybe the direwolves, but I'm gunning for bigatures like in LotR where backdrops are concerned.

Man, that was gorgeous... I'm nearly speechless... and yet here I am flailing and blabbing.

I sort of recognized some parts from LotR and Joan of Arc, but not any of the others. Very well done. I WANT it! I want to see HBO do this... man, when HBO announces, I have half a mind to just go out and buy a cable subscription, just for that. Seriously!

I'm not slamming the video, because that was edited together extremely well, but...I guess I've seen too many movies, because I recognized all of the clips except for about 3 or 4 (as I was watching). It was too obvious for me.

Still, they put together a nice video, and it makes me happy to know the ASoIaF fanbase is growing. :)

AHAHA I know what you mean. That clip from LotR with the mountains and the giant eagle broke my focus for a moment, but to the maker's credit, he didn't try to use too many closeups of actors to give it away. I just want MOAR now.
