According to the almighty counter on my Livejournal home page its been about 16 weeks now since last I posted, which almost (within about a month) coincides with the amount of time I've been dating Katie

I generally hate the idea of obligation to do something for anyone on a specific date, I kind of look at it as cheapening the whole thing.Like, "i love you and everything, but today is the day I show it.." like what crap is that?
Could be cool if you did something the day before like, " it doesn't need to be V-day for me to like you a lot/love you, etc, and then do something token the next day.Psychologically you would give more power to your actions and less to the date itself, and therefore, weakening the stupid grip it has on folks.
fw and I have a no V day policy basically, in that we should want to do neat things for each other pretty often and don't need a date to do so.I feel sad when I see these people running around buying something meaningless (do people really want shitty chocolate in a heart shape package or yet another stupid bear with a heart?)because they are obligated to, because i will be hell to pay if they just ignore it.

I guess I am lucky to be with someone like minded, where we both serve each other and think in terms of "how can I make them happy/smile" and not "what can I get out of doing this for them".
