I have this idea in my head. I think it's a good idea, but it's going to need a lot of character building ahead of time. And being a pantser, I'm not quite sure where to start.
I've seen some websites and books that have exhaustive, detailed lists on character likes and dislikes, but really, I don't care what flavor of ice-cream that my character would like, or what kind of tree they would be. ;) I liked the earlier mention of the Zodiac, but I'm looking for more robust character building. Maybe a grocery list of points that I should hit on to be fully rounded. Or something.
So I'm pinging the community here - what are your favorite character-building worksheets? What does or does not work for you? Or do you even bother? How do you build your characters?
I normally start with one character concept, run with that through the book, and build on it as I go (and then rewrite in everything I've learned by the end) but I'd like to try a different approach this time.
Help a girl out! I am looking for all kinds of brainstorming hints and advice. :)
