1. Your genre(s)?
Contemporary fantasy, Science fiction, historic, both mainstream and YA.
2. How many books have you completed?
Three, and about to complete a fourth. (not counting the four or five I wrote before I started getting things published).
3. How many books are you working on now?
One, with three waiting in the wings with a couple chapters and some outlining done.
4. Are you a linear or chunk writer?
Linear, for the most part. Writing a chapter at the end before I'm halfway through--to help guide me--always works for me.
5. The POV you're most partial to?
Third person, although I wrote a YA novel last summer all in first, and another with both, mostly in third with a story line that takes place a couple years before the main events all in first.
6. The theme that keeps cropping up in your books?
Internal struggles, self-discovery, and water--specifically seawater.
7. How many days a week do you write?
Almost every day. If I'm not working on a chapter, then I'm putting ideas in my journal, always some kind of writing going on.
8. What time of day do you get your best writing done?
Early in the morning or late at night, quiet being necessary.
9. Who are your inspirations?
Lois McMaster Bujold, Charles Stross, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Caitlín Kiernan, Victor Hugo, Neal Stephenson, William Gibson
10. Who are your favorite authors to read? (different from mentors)
So many, but I'd put Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, and Lois Bujold at the top of the list.
