Today some of Elene's friends stopped by while she was in the shower. I "entertained" them while they were waiting, because I was just sitting at my computer doing nothing anyway. The one kid was talking about how he is a physics major, and how most physics majors think they are better than everyone else. "I've come to realize that I'm not the smartest person in the world, but I know enough to get by in my classes."
I respected that.
Then I told him that I'm a film major, and we unfortunately have this problem where we just hang out with each other. The word he used to describe it was "close-minded". This offended me. I tried to explain that he didn't understand, but I couldn't think of any rebuttal. I mean, I guess we are close-minded, aren't we? Why don't I hang out with other people very often? Because I think they are boring. I guess that's close-mindedness. It just goes against everything I believe in.
Do I go against everything I believe in?
