A few thoughts...
I think that Bethany knows that I am not over her. And that is why she doesn't speak to me. It's such a simple concept, but it just never occurred to me before.
Bethany once told me that she felt she never understood me. She never could figure out what drove me, what my passion was. I used to try and figure it out myself so that I could explain it to her. It's usually very difficult to put your character into words. I think the reason she couldn't figure it out is because she was my passion.
