O HAI!
I'm 24 on Sunday!!!! It's going to be a super small family ordeal. Which is good.
In other news, I got told today that I looked like I was 17. ... ffs.
In other, other news, MY COMBAT BOOTS ARRIVED!!!! Happy birthday to myself <3
And in two weeks is Amberly's birthday, and I have to prepare for that. I have Plans. I'm debating on when to give her her present, because it really, I feel, is going to top all the other presents. Including the amazing one her husband got her.
I really enjoy having my characters pull unexpected shit, characterization-wise. Like, my male character is normally really empathetic and emotional. Because of it, he gets teased and babied a bit. People treat him like he's glass.
And they forget that he's a strategic mastermind, who isn't afraid to use his intelligence (as compared to brute force or action) to go about getting what he wants. And he's really excellent at manipulating because of it.
Yeah, it also gets him into TROUBLE. As in, his boyfriend got -really- upset when he realized that my character was manipulating him to get what he wanted. But he said it really well. "*frowns and cocks his head to the side* *contemplates it for a moment* Did I intend for it to be manipulation? No. But I'm tired of wanting you-- all of you-- and you pushing me away because you're afraid of hurting me." And then explained, "I knew what the outcome was going to be. I wouldn't have TEASED you if I didn't think I couldn't take it. Or if I didn't think I couldn't stop you if it got to be too much. The board has been set, Trowa. I've always known where our kings stood."
I have a feeling there's going to be fall-out when Trowa realizes that Quatre, my character, can so easily manipulate people. And he's right-- Quatre has a LOT of power over all of the characters because he has a strong sixth sense. He can use that to his advantage. It all comes down to trust issues-- Trowa is going to have to trust that Quatre -knows- better than to do so. And Kim is going to have to be more careful when she -does- do character manipulation.
