WE FOUND A NON-PROFIT CAT RESCUE THAT'S WILLING TO TAKE MY KITTENS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have a rehabilitation program that's purpose is to rescue feral kittens and rehabilitate them for adoption. For $25 a cat, they'll spay/neuter, microchip, deworm, vaccinate, everything. Then, they work with the Petsmarts in the area to adopt the cats out, complete with legal adoption forms that dictate, "If you do not want this kitten, you MUST return it to us."
I am so relieved. Like, so, so relieved, it's not funny. Weight off my chest. It's still going to be hard giving up these guys, but KNOWING that this guarantees that they'll go to homes where people are serious about owning a cat is such a huge relief to me.
I'm tasked with getting good pictures of them and writing short biographies. My dad was cracking up because the woman he was talking to was asking questions of whether or not the kittens are used to being handled, if they have names, how they react to situations, and I'm sitting there, meowing back and forth to the little assholes while they climb the bars of their area to get attention.
My sister even complimented me on socializing them-- she came over with her kids today and went to see the kitten enclosure and had a fun time watching the kittens climb about to get her attention when she was visiting and talking to them.
Such. A relief. Such. Such. SUCH.
