Finally; an update ;)

"It's just a door." nan kept muttering to herself. "Just a door. And he's just a human being... Ok.. This is not going to work."

nan realised it must have looked really stupid and really suspicious; standing in front of a house for a while, without doing anything.

"Oh heck (><)!"

nan rang the doorbell...
...and the door slowly began to open...

"Yes, may I help you?" A woman opened the door. Well, not ‘a’ woman, nan's neighbour to be exact. With astonishment, nan managed to produce some stuttered syllables, which actually turned out to be a comprehensible sentence.

"Uhm, yeah, hi. We've run out of sugar and since the stores are closed..." nan didn't finish her sentence.

"Of course! I'll go get you some! Wait here." the woman said. nan couldn't believe what had just happened. Were she and Nira both delusional? Had she knocked on the wrong door? Since the first was definitely not an option - although nan wouldn't completely vouch for it, it had to be the second. What else could it be? It's not like houses switch places just for fun. Yes, yes, the wrong door that had to be it.

"There you go." The woman returned with a small bag of sugar, which she handed to nan.

"Uh, yeah, thanks." nan said, and she turned around.

When Nira watched nan return with a small bag of sugar, she laughed. Loud. Very. Loud. "HYDE, what did you do? Hahahahahahaah! You actually asked him for sugar? It's brilliant!" Nira sank to her knees, one arm holding her sides, the other wiped her eyes and covered her mouth in turns.

"Oh shut up. I walked to the wrong house." (¬¬)
nan couldn't appreciate the fun Nira saw in the whole situation.

"Happens to the best ne~" Nira said, after she had managed to collect herself again. "So, what's the next step in our - nan!! He's there again!"

nan instantly dropped the bag of sugar and stared at Gackt again. He still seemed not to have seen or sensed the two staring/drooling/fangirling girls. He apparently felt at home, since he still didn't bother to put on a shirt. With a book in his hands he sat down on the couch to read.

"Hmm... I think we should wait until we can think of something less stupid to ask him..." nan said when she regained full control of herself again.
"That's probably the best thing to do yeah..." Nira didn't succeed in hiding the disappointment she felt. Suddenly it seemed like their 'mission' was the only thing important enough to think about and it felt bad not to be busy trying to accomplish it.

"We should at least stop fangirling this much, because someone is bound to notice within a reasonable time." Nira cleverly pointed out.
"Nira! You're brilliant!" nan hugged her friend so tight it must have kept her from breathing for several seconds.
"Nani?" Nira breathed as soon as she got loose."
"We'll have to try to be as non-fangirlish as we can!"
"And then what? We still have to think of a way to get closer to him, fangirling or not." Nira got angry with herself for not being able to find a solution to the current problem.

"Can't we just give him a present? Because 'that's what we always do when we get new neighbours'"

"nan, you're an effing genius!" Now it was Nira's turn to hug her friend to the brink of asphyxiation. "You're an absolute genius! Now tell me, did you steal something of my intelligence while I was asleep? Or are you just always acting dumb?" Nira asked her friend after letting go.

"I'll never te-ell~!" nan replied teasingly. "Now, for a plan of action.."

It remained silent for several moments.

"What, now you're all expecting me to come up with a plan for your genius remark?" Nira asked sarcastic. But nan's face left nothing to be desired. Her genius view on the whole situation was of temporary nature. Apparently.

"Pff..." Nira pushed her brains to the limit, and apparently, this was the sound it made, "what to give to a guy who has enough money to buy everything he desires... Twice!"
"Un. That's the tricky part..."

By the time noon had arrived, the girls had decided to visit a shop to get some ideas.

"Maybe something that's typically Dutch?..." nan suggested while walking through the supermarket near her house.
"Too bad a lot of that stuff is really sweet and he doesn't like that (><)"

"Who said we have to give him something to eat?" Nira replied, as she stopped before a non-food aisle.
"Then again," Nira sighed, "these aren't good either." she tossed back some packages she had taken earlier.

"Phe, this is no good. We should go somewhere else."
nan nodded in agreement. It was hard trying to find a present for someone like Gackt. The only original thing she could think of, was something they could make themselves. But Nira wasn't exactly a creative wonder when it came to hand making stuff.

The girls looked at the aisle ponderingly.

"Excuse me, may I help you?"

The lady at the other side of the counter was smiling happily at them.
"No thank you, we're still pondering."
"Of course."

nan kept turning over a pair of the most ugly clogs she had ever seen in her hands, while muttering complaints to Nira. Mesmerized by the ugly clogs, Nira kept staring at them and muttered similar complaints to nan.
"Can I help you?" the lady asked again, but this time it weren't the girls who were being addressed.
"Uhm, yes. I would like an ounce of salmon, please."
At the sound of such butchered English the girls awoke out of their trance and stared alarmingly at each other.
"Nira!" nan whispered, "what do we do?!"

"How am I supposed to know?!" Nira wispered back. "It's not like I'm a genius on demand! Especially not with him next to me!" she hissed.

Both girls were too shocked to move a muscle and all they could do was whisper at each other and stare at their "neighbour".

"What do we do if he smiles?" Nira whispered at the exact moment their neighbour turned. And smiled.

"Excuse me ladies." The sexy voice said, albeit with butchered English. And, on top of that, he smiled. [[Yes, that has been pointed out before. But we’re fangirls and we love his smile. Deal with it.]] Instantly, the girls were squealing and fangirling. Not that it showed though. The smile and the little wrinkles that showed behind the sunglasses were enough to paralyze the girls. Both just bowed their head a little in acknowledgement and watched their beloved idol walk off.

"... G...ackt..." (*_*)
"........yup....." (*_*)

Back at nan's house the girls sadly had to conclude that Nira would have to be heading home that evening.

"Well, of course I'm still going to stay here for dinner! Do you think I would like to be at home while you have the chance to see him cook naked?!"
" (¬¬;) ... Hmm, I guess you're right..."

"Hey, you don't get to hog Gackt-sama just because you live next door to him now." Nira protested at the sight of nan's face.
"I love him just as much as you do." (¬¬)
If nan wasn't her best friend, Nira would've smacked her in the head right now. As if nan had more right to see Gackt, just because she happened to discover him sooner. Phe.

While Nira was muttering all this to herself, nan had retreated to the kitchen to fix both girls some quick dinner. Neither of them would stand it to be away from the living room window longer than it would take to them to take a rest room-pause. Neither wanted to miss any glimpse they might catch of him through the drapes.

Still hearing Nira mutter, nan got irritated. "Nira, for HYDE's sake, stop acting like a three year old who got 'No' for an answer!" nan said. Even though she was completely entitled to more of Gackt-sama's time - she had known about him for a good while longer than Nira - she wouldn't deny her best friend any views on their idol. She wouldn't be much of a friend if she did that. And, with her Japan and Bishounen obsession, it was hard to find any company. Even if you did study Japanese.

"Fine, fine." Nira sighed, as she came to the kitchen. "Need any help?"

"Daijoubu, daijoubu. Just go and make the couch comfortable. I think we'll crash there for a good while to come." nan grinned at her friend.

Nira grinned back. Exactly what she had been thinking. "Hai." Nira confirmed, before walking back to the couch and making it as comfortable as she could, by stealing all the pillows from the other sofa and chairs that were in nan's living room.

Then, Nira suddenly had another attack of geniusness…

*

Hearing all the racket in the living room, nan became curious about what Nira was exactly doing. She had asked her to make the couch comfortable, not to break down the house.
With a pan in her hand, stirring, nan stuck her head around the courner of the kitchen to stare at a girl who was rapidly moving all sorts of furniture around and around again, until she was completely satisfied with it.

"There!" The triumphant sound made its way to the kitchen, where nan had retreated herself again after shaking her head at Nira's actions.

"What did you do?" nan asked, as she came into the living room, carrying a tray with several bowls, some chopsticks and deliciously smelling food. "Nira! Genius! Hontou ni!" If nan wasn't extremely hungry and she knew her friend was too - obviously, even though her face was red, a little sweaty and she was huffing - she would've dropped the tray immediately do squish her friend. It was actually very surprising that what she said in this state made sense.

Even though it had taken some effort to get it done in a quite small amount of time, Nira had managed to re-arrange all the furniture in nan's living room in such a way, that the couch had been turned around 180° and was now facing the house across the street.

The house were Gackt was sitting at the piano. And in full view. With food for both girls. What more could they wish for?
Neither knew the answer, until the sexy man got up from behind the piano...
