So Coraline 3-D rocked my socks. Worth seeing in 3-D... beautiful, scary, and the differences from the book were just fine (although, I could have done without seeing quite so much of Forcible and Spink's bodies... but revealing (pun intended) too much more would spoil an indescribable moment of horror).
Why do I adore it? The below video says it all:

Also, be sure to visit the official movie website,
coraline.com ,down the well are some AMAZING "making of" shorts. There's an "Other Mother's Workshops" where you can make wonderful eerie pictures of yourself with button eyes.
With voice talent like Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, and the loveable amazing wonderful John Hodgemen... everyone should enjoy this film. But seriously? READ THE BOOK. It's wonderful in similar and remarkably different ways. I also enjoy my copy of Neil reading Coraline aloud. I often drift off to sleep to it.
Henry Selick + Neil Gaiman = A happy Rachel for years to come.
