Halloween

For the last couple of weeks, I've known that one of my first comic book stores, the Comic Bookie, was closing. Welp, tonight it happened. November would have marked the comic book store's 18th anniversary. I have been going for 17 of those years. I haven't been a comic book fangirl as much as I was then, but I still appreciate the medium. While there, I saw a reporter, David Allen, who writes a local column for the Daily Bulletin. He had an article about the Comic Bookie before, too. But today had to be the day to go. Years ago, I had won a costume contest through the Comic Bookie and had gotten a year subscription of Excalibur. And my costume? I was Shadowcat. So I had always associated the Comic Bookie with Halloween. We stayed past six and even were the last people to go. And as it happens, I ended up being Chris's last customer. He had a picture taken to commemorate the event.

Now, despite being tired, I really want NaNo to start. Blugh. I'm gonna get off for a few then get back on after 12 to start this thang.
