I can't believe that I didn't manage to rec a single Harry Potter fic *frowns* I don't know what's wrong with me, but this Tour has Harry Potter pretty much covered, so onwards to the recs.

Why I fangirl this: Oh my god *shakes* This turned out to be on the most amazing AU fics I have ever read in my long time as a fiction reader. That summary there? It's so doesn't tell you of the science and the evolution and how everything changes and how John and Rodney can break your heart or how humans can be utter idiots (and pathetic to boot). There where moments that I wanted to kick someone arse and of course the sobbing over certain parts and she almost killed me at the end, almost. If you do decide to read this, be ready for some betrayals and changes and in general a lot of things that could happen if the Stargate was ever real and became public knowledge. Be ready to adore Lorne and Teyla and Ronon and Radek and oh my god Chuck! And cry for others that lost their way.

Characters from the Atlantis series and the original SG1 series will figure prominently in all of the stories. This series also contains a heavy SLASH story line for Sheppard and McKay who meet up (finally) after John returns from Atlantis.
Why I fangirl this: I read a lot of AUs, in case you can't tell from all these recs, but this satisfies something I was missing in SGA, what would have happened if people didn't want Rodney going to Atlantis (for various reasons) and the expedition failed and John came back and was appointed at the SGC? This is one of those stories where everything is sprawling and long, the sex amazing, the men hot and there's a lot of backstory and family to everything. It has a lot of SG-1 refferences/problems/people in it, which makes it even better! Cause a world were Samantha Carter and Rodney McKay are friends is fine by me *g* But I can't honestly do justice to this fic with a simple description, so if you like slash and can read McShep, read this. The surprises will hit one after the other!! :)

Why I fangirl this: Simply what The Phantom Menace and half of Attack of the Clones should have been. Fix it fic. Fixes Jar-Jar, Anakin, Qui-Gon, death, Darth Maul. Kick ass plot, slash, other relationships and honestly some god damn brains (something that am not sure George Lucas has anymore *snerk*). *hugs it close* My canon for TPM since Dec 2000, heh.

Why I fangirl this: First of all preslash? Gods, I didn't know such things existed! (well not really, I do. but I don't read them all that often). Secondly, it's a fix, a fix that I like a lot. TPM happens as we know it, by Obi-Wan wants his old life back, his own Universe, in other words, Qui-Gon.
He has taken Anakin as his Padawan and tries to go on, but it's not easy. They both suffer from it, Obi from missing his Master, his guilt, his pain and Anakin from not really getting enough from his new Master. I think that Obi-Wan being appointed to train Anakin right after the end of TPM, when he is not even a knight yet, was a mistake (and we all know where that mistake led). He is way too young and hurt to be able to act as a Master to Anakin and that damn boy needs someone strong. So Obi-Wan is not dealing well with his Master's death. He would like to leave this life, but the Force has other plans for him. I love this story cause it's sweet and strong and sensitive and Qbi-Wan just screams to have someone to look after him. His hurt is emotional and doesn't stop when he is faced with new possibilities, a world that is so alike, but so different from the one he just left behind. And yes another AU, don't you love them? :) I think that the authors planned for a sequel that was to be slash, but that never came, still the story stands on it's own.

The Empress rules the Sith and guess what, they have a common eneny with the Jedi, a new threat that has brought war to their doorstep.
Why I fangirl this: The AU (or is that AR) to end all ARs :) This has nothing to do with TPM or the Saga or any kind of movie. It's the Jedi and others and it's just a story. When I first read it I fell in love with [info]mrshamill all over again (like her writing some of the most amazing TPM stories was not enough!). It reminded me a lot of the Empire Trilogy by Raymond Feist and Janny Wurts, only not. People who have no idea who those Star Wars people really are and they don't really want to get dragged into what ever fix for TPM exists or some complicated "dance" around the Trilogy is written, but enjoy Sci-fi or fantasy and can learn to love the Jedi, then this story is for you.
mrshamill as always spins an excellent tale of intrigue, war, peace, negotiation, every day life, Jedi rituals and of course love. Attention to detail, good plot and solid writing only make this story better and trust me it's good.

Summary: Continuation of Riding the Wheel of If: Episode Fifteen by Mrs Hamill in response to her hurled gauntlet of "Yah, poor pitiful Chancellor Jinn...he'll find his Obi, I'm sure of it. However, if any of you Wheelees can't stand it THAT much (and you know who you are), Write It! Go on, I dare ya! I'd like to see it as much as anybody, but can't take me hand off the wheel long enough to do it. Go for it, do, and I'll be on the sidelines cheering you on!"
Why I fangirl this: Cause it's hot. And so damn well written.
And have I mentioned hot? :) It's probably one of my most favourite AR stories, it has all the title says, plus romance and plot and likeable secondary characters (who go on to have horribly hot sex *g*). This series follows Episode 15 of the Wheel of If by Mrs Hamill, Wheel of If is as you might imagine "a what if" kinda universe, where poor Obi-Wan goes through numerous realities trying to find one that will ultimately be right for him. Susan Anthony builds the story after Ep 15 is done and goes on to create an amazing Alternate Reality where Obi-Wan moves on to the next Reality, but Qui-Gon stays behind and needs to find an Obi of his own :)
She spins a tale of love, action and most probably devotion, also a different Jedi Temple that most of us are used to (which is not a bad thing). Of course there are bad guys and some really interesting spins that never stop coming.

Why I fangirl this: This fic here is fandom history, one of the first big slash novels that came out of the Star Trek fandom in the early 80's. It's written with incredible poise, sadness, bitterness, love, loss and OMG it killed me for years after I read it. I always rememeber this as the fic that broke me (well this and maygra's Shield's Brothers Arc) and made me cry and quite honestly judge every single fic against it for a little while.

It's mainly Matt's point of view, on what's happening with his life, post Die Hard 4.0 and I like that he seems to grow up, but at the same time not to lose the geek completely. I love the description of he seems to be drifting in a normal life, trying to ignore things and then wham he's onto John once again. Lovely attempt at first time sex as well! :)

Why I fangirl this: For me this is Lotr fic. I had read quite a lot of fic before I stumbled upon this series and I believed that I had read some good elf slash up to then. Well this story here changed all that. I discovered the wonder that was Eresse and her writing. The way she manipulates the written word and her descriptions of mundane things or people leave you with live technicolor impressions and the sex makes you weak *grins*. Yes, dammit, it's all about the sex with me or maybe not :) But it's not easy to find writing like Eresse's accompanied with sex that practically melts your screen (in this and her other stories). On the other hand, some people find writing that might even remotely sound like JRR Tolkien's boring, I do not. Manipulating the written word like that makes me sigh in bliss and read even more.
The Greenleaf and Imladris Series is big, I think that at some point I tried to put it all together and see how big it is and I sort of found out that it's probably bigger than LOTR itself. It starts slow and takes time, with the characterisation, the relationships and the details that follow canon very closely.

Out-of-work actor Jared, takes a job looking after high-price hooker Jensen in a story that has the perfect amount of humour, angst and hot sex. “Jensen is so gorgeous that Jared is almost glad that he's so badly hung over because seeing this guy for the first time without some haze of headache and grogginess to dampen the effect could probably cause Jared's head to explode. That speculation leads him to wonder if perhaps Jensen is already bringing out the crazy in him.”

Why I fangirl this: This is one of the first big Dean Winchester/Castiel stories that came out of that *little* fandom (more have been written since then), it was at the time pretty close to canon and oh so damn cute! pandarus has a very flowing writing style which is amazing for writing Castiel (an Angel of the Lord for those not knowing), but I think that I love this best cause it's a love story and has a nice Ruby (err, Demon). There's also a podfic of this read by the author that is simply AMAZING! It made me laugh for hours :)

Why I fangirl this: Jensen as a high priced hooker!!! It’s fantastic. Out-of-work actor Jared, takes a job looking after high-price hooker Jensen in a story that has the perfect amount of humour, angst and hot sex. “Jensen is so gorgeous that Jared is almost glad that he's so badly hung over because seeing this guy for the first time without some haze of headache and grogginess to dampen the effect could probably cause Jared's head to explode. That speculation leads him to wonder if perhaps Jensen is already bringing out the crazy in him.”

In which he goes on a roadtrip with a demon, discovers the delights of tequila and french fries and pie, plays a starring role in a virgin sacrifice, is deflowered by his favourite Winchester, and then gets some very unpleasant news indeed.
Why I fangirl this: This is one of the first big Dean Winchester/Castiel stories that came out of that *little* fandom (more have been written since then), it was at the time pretty close to canon and oh so damn cute! pandarus has a very flowing writing style which is amazing for writing Castiel (an Angel of the Lord for those not knowing), but I think that I love this best cause it's a love story and has a nice Ruby (err, Demon). There's also a podfic of this read by the author that is simply AMAZING! It made me laugh for hours :)
