It’s still Tuesday here for a few minutes anyway ;)
I’ve gone back to my roots with some of my first friends I made when I was trying out my fandom wings, and I’ve even included a rec for my newest fandom, Twilight. Also, we have some music videos, because there just aren’t enough of those in the Tour. Many thanks to my Hubby for putting up with me while I compiled this list. (Thirteen entries plus a tiny PS.)
Fic:
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis/Black Jewels fusion: Elizabeth/Ronan
Title:
To Serve a QueenAuthor:
tielanRating: NC-17
Status: Complete in 17 chapters.
Summary: Ronan has lived in slavery for seven years, used and abused by the Queens who owned him. He swore never to willingly serve one of their kind. But when he is bought by Elizabeth Weir, the Queen of Atlantis territory, he must adjust to a new life - a life that promises honour and service - and love - he never dreamed of."
Why I fangirl this: Though Tielan is a force among Teyla fen, Weir and Ronan take center stage in this epic masterpiece. I was not the only reader to become inspired to read Anne Bishop’s source material for this story, and Tielan’s stirring prose is true to the feel of the original work.
More of Tielan’s SGA fic Fandom: Stargate SG-1/The Princess Bride: Sam/Jack
Title:
The Princess HostAuthor:
alliesingsRating: PG
Status: Complete, one-shot.
Summary: Jack tells an ailing Cassie a season three story with a Princess Bride twist.
Why I fangirl this: For a Sam/Jack shipper who loves The Princess Bride, this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
More of her Stargate stuff Fandom: Ironman (Movieverse): Tony/Pepper
Title:
Walking In Backwards Author:
stargatedragonRating: R
Status: Complete, one-shot.
Summary: It’s hard working for Stark Industries
Why I fangirl this: When I see a movie, I usually long for this kind of missing scene, and Sheryl delivers with this glimpse into Pepper’s private life.
I met Sheryl via SG-1, but she has dragged me into other fandoms through her fun, upbeat writing. For more Ironman, Speed Racer, SG-1, Kim Possible smut, and like a hundred X-Files fics:

Title:
My Home Is a Blue Box, and Other Amazing Tales Author:
matt1969Rating: PG-13
Status: Complete, one-shot.
Summary: Rose and Gwen, two women from present-day Britain, want to raise their children as normally as possible. But what is 'normal' when the fathers are a Time Lord and a 51st Century former Time Agent turned head of Torchwood Three?
Why I fangirl this: This fanfic was my introduction to Torchwood, and it is everything I love about Matt’s writing. Funny while still being thought-provoking, her characters could walk off the page and down the street anywhere.
Matt’s varied fandoms and rarepairs Fandom: Twilight: Edward/Bella (All Human)
Title:
Letters to GramercyAuthor:
OhMyWord Rating: R
Status: Complete in 33 chapters.
Summary: I reached down; it was a plain, lined sheet of paper. I should have just crumbled it up, I shouldn’t have read the first couple of lines, and I shouldn’t have folded the paper and put it in my jacket pocket.
Why I fangirl this: I’m pretty new to all of this Twilight stuff, but I have to say that the All Human genre has its gems. This fic is one of them. Romance with some dark themes, it is actually Bella working through a traumatic loss that made me feel such affinity to the character.
Fandom: Harry Potter: Granger/Snape
Title:
Phoenix Song (or, Hermione Granger and the H-B P)Author:
grrangerousRating: PG-13
Status: Complete in 25 chapters.
Summary: When Professor Snape heals Hermione's injuries after the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, they are both surprised by what they learn. The two must work together to help Harry defeat Lord Voldemort.
Why I fangirl this: I made a promise to myself to try my best not to play favorites with all of the people I beta and admin for at TPP, but I’m currently beta reading the sequel to this, and so it is still very much on my mind. Many have made attempts to tweak canon to their will, but few as well as Grangerous. The relationship between Hermione and Severus is perfectly balanced and appropriate for their respective ages and positions. Some chapters, I’ve read over and over, and she now owns much of my personal canon. Read on, and be assured that I’m betaing as fast as I can ;)
Fandom: Harry Potter: Blaise/Hermione
Title:
The Frost So Bitter Hung Author:
gelsey Rating: PG-13
Status: Complete, one-shot.
Summary: It's Christmas Eve, and Hermione and Blaise are still fighting the war -- on opposite sides. What happens when they call a cease fire? AU.
Why I fangirl this: Since I met Gelsey through
romancingwizard, I’ve been delighted by the sheer variety of her pairings and the originality of her fic. This pairing works so well in this situation. It is one of those stories that occasionally dances on the edge of my mind, causing me to stop what I’m doing just to reread and enjoy the moment again.
Gelsey’s Master List Fandom: Star Trek (2009): Spock/Uhura
Title:
Linguistics Author:
mrstaterRating: PG
Status: Complete, one-shot.
Summary: This relationship isn't easy for him, and this topic must be one of the most uncomfortable aspects for even a half-Vulcan to broach. It probably wasn't the most logical of choices to tease him about the Human struggle for self-expression.
Why I fangirl this: It was all the ideas filling my head when I left the theater and more. Beautiful, touching. So delicate and tentative, just like them. I met Mrstater while she was writing the Transfigured Hearts series, and I’ve enjoyed following her into many fandoms since, including some lovely Narnia and Austin fic:
Miscellaneous Fic Index Fandom: Star Trek (2009): McCoy/Chapel
Title:
Down to the Bones Author:
Kerichi Rating: PG-13
Status: In Progress to chapter 3
Summary: He was born with the gift of sarcasm, and the sense that his friend was mad. The night before Jim's hearing, McCoy goes to a bar to drown his worries and encounters a woman he thinks he won't see again. He will.
Why I fangirl this: Because it is Kerichi! Another author I met through Remus/Tonks, every email alert is a guaranteed delight, be it Harry Potter or something new. I’m falling in love with McCoy again along with nurse Chapel, and as long as Spock is taken, why not!
Music Vids:
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis: McKay
Title: White & Nerdy
Author:
wiccanslyrLink: MegaUpload:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QTEX6ZG4Rating: PG
Summary: Rodney is, beyond a doubt, white and nerdy.
Why I fangirl this: This is a hilarious example of an extremely well-edited music video, and the song by Weird Al fits no one as well as Dr. Rodney McKay. I can’t count the number of times I’ve watched this vid, and the images from it are always what I think when I hear the song.
Her Atlantis vids. Fandom: The Road to Avonlea
Title:
Made for YouAuthor:
allisnowRating: PG
Summary: Subject: Felicity/Gus. Song: My Story by Brandi Carlile
Why I fangirl this: Alli’s talents include insightful fiction and lovely music videos. This particular one tells the story of Felicity and Gus, one of my first ‘ships from before I knew what a shipper was, but I did used to tape episodes and watch some of them over and over. This vid made me cry. You can also check out her awesome SG-1 vids at the same address if you scroll up.
Fandom: Dr. Who
Title:
Doctor Who-Ordinary Day Author: MrsCake
Rating: PG
Summary: Doctor Who-Ordinary Day. Music By Great Big Sea. A fanvid by Almost Angst Free Productions.
Why I fangirl this: While I’m a big fan of Nine and Ten who feature in this vid, I also have to love the way some of the older Doctors are included in this amazing, fun tribute with a variety of guest stars and companions.
Fandom: Dr. Who/Dr. Horrible
Title:
The Dr. Whorrible Project Author: MonkeyWithJetPacks and Qkellie
Rating: PG
Summary: "A crazy project that Qkellie and I have been working on to create Doctor Who vids for all of songs in Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog."
Why I fangirl this: I absolutely love all of the music in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and the marriage of Joss’s music with Dr. Who is unforgettable and downright funny. Doctors Nine and Ten along with an array of companions, friends, and enemies.
