Why I fangirl this: Scifichick has a brilliant way of subverting common cliches. For instance, in this fic, she takes a common trope in Draco/Hermione fanficion, Pregnant!Hermione, and runs with it in her own unique way. It also helps that she writes beautifully, creates complexly layered characters and plots like a fiend :) She is very prolific and writes for a number of different pairings, so if Draco/Hermione isn't quite your cup of tea, definitely check out her other work - you'll find something you enjoy!

Why I Fangirl This: As a fervent Cat Person, I've always loved Crookshanks in the books and I think that he is a sadly underused character in fanficiton. Part character study of Draco, and part sweet romance between Draco and Hermione, this story is a perfect blend of things I look for in a bit of light reading.

Why I Fangirl This: Kitty has a brilliant way with the smut and sexual tension, and this story is extremely hot. (ON FIRE HOT!) But that isn't the reason I love it. Out of all of her stories, this one has the magnificent conflict between two people who want each other without a lot of the angst she is famous for. Rose learns about her sexuality, and Scorpius learns that sometimes he has to work for things he wants!

Why I Fangirl This: Sometimes, I like to read stories that aren't all about a couple and romance and dive into some canon Gen-fic. However, a good gen-fc is harder to find than one may think, which is why I appreciate this author so much. The plot is slightly crack-ish, but the characters are so charming and the writing is so excellent that I was along for the ride 100%. If you aren't laughing, I'll eat my laptop. Also, her one-shot Broccoli and the Art of Subterfuge is a stroke of comedic genius.

Why I Fangirl This: Bekah is an amazing author. She really understands the complex relationship between Lizzy and Darcy and loves to experiment with it in different ways. Of all of her stories (and they are ALL amazing - check them out!) this one is my favorite. The premise is very original - Darcy is deaf. The exection... well, it is just brilliant. Read it - you won't be sorry!

Why I Fangirl This: Pride & Prejudice as a western. Lizzy as a cowgirl. Darcy as a rich ranch owner. Bingley owns a saloon. Jane is a schoolteacher. Wickham is a gambling rogue. Hot, hot smut. Do I have to say any more?

Why I Fangirl This: I always felt bad for the Bennet family situation in the book, and felt that it was responsible for a lot of Mr. & Mrs. Bennet's interactions with each other and responsible for a lot of the overall family dynamic. This story argues the premise - what would happen if the Bennets were discovered to be the only heirs of a duchy? Fortunes are reversed, and suddenly Darcy isn't the one with the status anymore ;) Very well written, and a very fun story.

Why I Fangirl This: This story takes full advantage of the creepy potential inherent in the movie. This Jareth is a cruel, arrogant Lucifer. Scary and brilliant, this is the best interpretation of the movie I have seen in awhile. I just wish it was longer!

Why I Fangirl This: This little story is absolutely, utterly charming. Heist's writing style reminds me of the best fantasy writers I grew up with- descriptive, creative, clever and original. Jareth and Sarah's relationship 'negotiations' are hilarious!

Why I Fangirl This: Of all the things I am recommending today, this is probably the stuff I would recommend most highly. David has drawn highly detailed, absolutely gorgeous beefcake centerfold paintings of the Disney Heroes. To see most of them (as they are a bit risque) you need to register with deviantart. IT IS SO WORTH IT. The detail he puts into the individual paintings are amazing (Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid has a tattoo that says 'Fish Fetish' - I just about died!). He uses a lot of the original style of the original movie the character came from and gives it an extra oomph. SEE THEM NOW, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Why I Fangirl This: I love HollyBell's art. She draws a lot of Disney fanart, and while you can definitely see the influence on her other work, she definitely has a style of her own. This webcomic is a bit more unpolished that a lot of the stuff in her gallery, but I have a weakness for comics in general and this one is very cute (even if unfinished). But visit her gallery! She has a lot of beautiful finished pieces that are colorful and fun. My favorites are: Dancer Study, Let Down Thy Golden Hair, and A Look At Fate.
