Buckling Down & Heading for Awesome

And now for something comepletely different...

A HAPPY POST!

I'm working on getting a new routine down.  OMG, I've been waiting for this!!!  There's so much I want to do!  I mean A LOT!  But I'm going light to start.  Wanna know what is going on?

Clean Start
I wash my dishes every morning (because I don't have a dishwasher this si done by hand).  I've added a counter wipe down to the dish routine.  That helps make kitchen cleaning day easier.  And since I am at it, I also prep lunch at that time so I can at least clean the utensils and measuring cups involved (causing less dishes to build through the day).

Writing
I want to eventually work in 30 minute writing blocks (at least this is the goal I have for by end of the year--- But ADD is not my friend).  I'd like to write 9am-9:30, 10am-10:30, and 11am-11:30 (plus 12:30-1pm when possible).  But that's the future, not now.  At the moment, I'm doing 3 ten minute writing sessions.  Starting at approx. 9am I did my first (there was forgotten tea that hindered things).  I'll be doing this for this week.  I'm starting slow remember!  And once these feel less like head fog of teeth pulling, I'll move on to longer or more (haven't decided what step 2 is yet).

Extra Exercise
I need extra exercise.  I feel like my current amount just isn't enough.  I'm doing extra by dancing like a fool (like I did the Gangnam Style dance through my house today).  And this actually corresponds with my writing goal.  See at ultimate goal times 9:30/10:30/11:30 I want to dance to two songs in a row (1 song per 15 min of writing).  Of course, right now I'm doing just 1 song.  This is part of the whole thing I am taking into consideration when I decide how to up the writing.

Japanese
I've been wanting and trying to learn Japanese for a while now.  I just have a time issue.  Well, I found some time!  With lunch pre-made, I pick my learning material for the day and set the information up and start studying as I eat.  Once I finish eating, I create a review test for the next day and study for another 15 minutes (which is why I finish eating at 12:30pm).

But wait!  That's not all!
Due to the visit there were habits dropped.  Since life is trying to become normal, they are coming back into play.  I had stopped counting calories. I stopped watching what I ate.  I had stopped exercising.  This is now stopping... Or is that restarting?  Hehe!

I only gained (depending on the day) 5.5 pounds (at most) back.  (Some days it is just 1.5 pounds)  So i hope to be back at my pre-visit weight in 2-3 weeks (no pressure!!!  That makes me not lose weight).  And anyways, I had gotten stuck at 168.5 so this might all help in the end (plus extra exercise).

I'm also getting back on a cleaning schdule instead of "When there's time!"  This replaces writing one day a week (writing can be done with all but 1 day... The cleaning is just intense on Fridays).

It's not just me!
My husband is joining the diet kick again. See all exercise equipment in our price range has a max weight of 250 pounds.  And depending the day that's at least 15 pounds less than he weighs. (He's 6'4.5" so he isn't like grotesque... But he still needs to lose.)

The kids are also starting their first bit of chores for allowance.  They get $1/week for three days of chores.  They help me (by clearing carpets so I can vacuum the next day) and put away their laundry (so I don't have to do anything other than wash).  THis is as much sanity as helping my kids save up for the laptops they want. (It is going to take them a while at this rate...  Grades might help and so do lost teeth.)

So the time I have longed for is here and I am taking hold and working to awesome!
