I got a Kindle for a (very early) Christmas present! And I really really like it. I've bought all the Josh Lanyon books I never read cause they were e-books only and I'm planning to switch primarily to e-books because they are cheaper and take up less room. So much for my curmudgeonly opposition to e-books.

I have way too many ebooks, and I do enjoy using the ereader (they're more "green," and all - but I think I still favor paper books. (Softcover books, anyway. Hardcovers are too heavy!)

ETA: Which Kindle is it? Keyboard or not?

Hey, go to Mobile Read Forums. I don't have a link; just Google it. :P

Anyway, lots of info there about tech gadgets, ereaders, etc., with forums organized by device.

I've gotta ask: How are you liking the side page turn buttons. Is it possible to hold the device in one hand and turn pages with that same hand comfortably?

I'm considering a Kindle, actually. (Arrrgh - I already own a Kobo, but dang Amazon for having the monopoly on some ebooks. I speak specifically of books by Robert Rankin. I may actually have to break down and get a Kindle - and I was thinking of the $79 model).

The side page turn buttons don't bother me but it's my first e-book reader so it's not like I've gotten used to a different kind or anything. I tend to hold it with both hands but I think turning it with the same hand you hold it with shouldn't be too difficult.

I was just doing that and it isn't hard. I worried about dropping it a little but it can be done without too much trouble.

Oooh, thanks. I'll continue thinking about this one. I have a Kobo Touch, and I love it. I know the Kindle Touch is shipping in a few weeks, but it's more expensive, of course. *thinking, thinking, thinking*
