Wow.

You know what? It's really unfair that you've been blocked for all that time. Because this was brilliant, and I know it probably did your head in to get it written, but it's flawless in its design and execution. Really powerful, and it played so wonderfully with the myth (and as someone who did Egyptology for two years at uni, I loved what you did with the myth) - the hunger and visceral desire to be better, to dominate, to not just push aside the rival but to completely smash him to pieces...

Michael made a really good Seth - chaotic and violent and jealous, and I liked Cora as Isis (and the 'we'll have a son' line is oddly chilling - in the context of the myth we know what happens but in the context of Michael and Ralf I do wonder now if the next generation of Schumachers will be pitted against one another). Of course Cora as Isis is quite ironic, given current events! But she did put up with a hell of a lot IRL, and you made her very sympathetic here.

And the use of colour. That really struck me as I read through. Not just the obvious red for Ferrari and blood and life, but all the colours, the colours seen on Egyptian tomb paintings. Golden coffins. I liked the coffin symbolism a lot, the way you played with its meaning in both ancient Egyptian and Western belief.

I love the way they tear each other apart, and through their destruction they begin to appreciate one another. It's gloriously twisted and so very, very them. Just fantastic. And totally my head canon for this pairing. I'm so glad you wrote again *hugs*
