"GATTACA style future semi-dystopia, where children are generally created from selected genetic material. People are engineered to be difficult to turn, and given drugs to keep them from being palatable. Frank was born naturally, and as a result has trouble with the drugs, which actually make him ill -- and when he manages to avoid being dosed, discovers music -- something people don't pay as much attention to anymore. Gerard can scent him out, as someone who smells actually edible, and the rest is history."
