The next day Alicia looked for Miles, but he was either avoiding her or on a different schedule. She didn't know which was the case, but she was hoping for the latter because it would be rather annoying and frustrating if he was playing hard to get after going to great lengths to get her attention. She didn't like mind games and prefer guys were upfront. It made the dating process easier and she didn't need to worry about reading between the lines. She lived by the motto, "Say what you need to say honestly."

It took the whole day but she found him leaving his job later than usual. It was odd because he didn't strike her as a workaholic, but then again people were full of surprises. She did jump to conclusions before about other people and she wanted to make sure she wasn't doing that now. It would've been rather unfortunate he turned out to be a better person than she gave him credit for - lying aside, of course. She knew that lying was part of his personality, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to hold him accountable.

"Miles," she called out, waving so she could catch his attention in case he didn't see her and could only hear her. She wanted to give him a chance. She knew he would be pleased about this. She had some reservations but was willing to overlook them because he was willing to do some self improvement for himself instead of someone else.

"Oh, hey Alicia. How's it going?"

"I want to know if you're available Saturday night."

"Yes, why?" he asked, trying to seem puzzled by her question and so far succeeding.

"I'd like to ask you out."

"Are you sure? You're not pulling my chain are you? I'm really not interested in being played with."

"No, I'm not playing with you. I'm sincere. What would I gain from messing with you?"

"It could be pay back for all those times I lied and didn't treat you right."

Before Miles could continue to explain why he was suspicious Alicia kissed him. He had failed at wooing her so many times that he wasn't sure if this was real. He kissed her back in case it wasn't a dream and it felt nice. It felt passionate and fulfilled the very fantasies he had about her this entire time.

When they parted he said, "So what time am I picking you up and what ridiculous should I wear to embarrass you?"

Alicia's face expressed both shock and disgust, but before she could retort Miles added, "I'm kidding. I'm not that big of a fail."
