If it was one thing, Theodore Nott considered himself a classic; dark hair, light eyes, mysterious, yet intriguing. A conundrum of a conundrum, the epitome of esoteric ruins, an ancient secret to the attraction of others. It also helped that he was a bisexual, so it seemed like he was leaning one way, but he would gently fall back towards another side of the spectrum. It was easy and fun, difficult and frustrating, but you were always pleased with the outcome. Now that he was established as a rare gem in a pick, then it is easy to further illustrate the story that has unfolded between Theodore Nott and the notorious Gryffindor Hermione Granger.

It had nothing to do with the fact that he was a conundrum, although Hermione was always up for a challenge. The puzzle of puzzles was in front of her, yet it was not his structure, his set-up, his being that drew her to him. It actually had more to do with the fact that they had been paired together for an assignment that was grade-dependant and if there was anything involved, Hermione would be making sure that her grades could possibly not get anymore mucky than she pleased for them to be. Despite this fact, the mysterious and intriguing Theodore Nott was convinced it was his winning, yet curiousity-sparking personality that had attracted the bushy-haired Gryffindor. But boy, he was wrong. She was more complex than that, not drawn to anyone that seemed more cryptic than a safe in a bank at Gringotts. She wasn't that shallow; it would be shallow of her to judge who was worth her curiousity and who wasn't, based on how they carried themselves, how open or close minded they may have been, or anything else that would define a person's level of trust to others.

It's all easy to spot. Why Theodore Nott had been so careless, so carefree with Hermione's feelings. It was obvious that he thought she was enamoured by his every move, so he made it a show. Every step, every smile was for her, for her entertainment, for an encore. And then he wondered why she hadn't fallen into a fit of love for him, why she had yet to say much of anything about what he did. Because it was torture, not entertainment. Him flagrantly displaying what he had to offer not only made his services lose value, but showed her how things could be strung along to make her manipulated so easy and even though Hermione may have been a normal, kind person, it angered her to see people making such rude intentions so clear for her to see. There was no way he would ever rope her in like that.

But it's not like you would understand that. It's something complex, something still classic in her life, even after she rejected all of the claims of ever fancying Theodore Nott, even though it was true. She had never shared this news with anyone, but Theodore was so confident, so fool-safe that he had told a few people and had even proclaimed it to Hermione herself, in order to be told that he was a liar and full of himself. There was still something classic there, something sitting in the back of her mind with dark hair, light eyes, mysterious and intriguing clinging to the recesses of her thoughts of moving on. A conundrum of a conundrum, the epitome of esoteric ruins, an ancient secret to the attraction of others.
