It was a sunny day outside. Ginny loved sunny days. She liked the day before something exciting happened. Ginny did not like being lied to. So, when she had come in contact with Blaise for the day, she had given him a cautious look. She pulled him towards the Lake with her, walking beside him. He smiled down at her.
"I heard something interesting today." She said gently, in a chirpy voice. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her towards him. She wondered if he could tell already. When she began with that, which sadly enough, she did a lot, he usually caught onto it quickly. Not today, though. He was avoiding it.
He ran a hand through his hair. Ginny observed this as a sign of nervousness and it heightened her security. "Oh really?" He questioned. "What did you hear today, love?"
She stopped, turning to look at him. His hand slid from her waist and fell to his side. She gave him a softened look. "I heard you were...well. Prowling, for lack of better words?" He sort of froze in place, as Ginny sort of circled him. "But I trust you and I love you. You wouldn't do that, would you Blaise? You wouldn't lie to me, would you?" She stopped behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist, leaning into his back.
"I would never." He replied stoicly. She tightened her arms around him.
She knew he was lying. She wished he would stop. Ginny didn't like lying. "Oh, okay. Because you would probably be forgiven if you told me you had been lying. But if you kept lying to me, which you would never do, I would never forgive. I'd be upset. I'd probably do something drastic and cry everytime I saw you." She let go of him.
"Ginny..." He said quietly. She turned him to look at her forcefully.
Wrapping her hand behind his neck, she pulled him down and looked at him. "Stop lying to me. I hate lying more than anything in the world." She said venemously. She let go and stepped back, looking at him. He was quiet for a while, just looking at her. Finally, she burst again. "How can you sit here and lie to my face!"
He grabbed her forearm and pulled her close to him. "Because you've lied to me too, Ginny." She yanked her hand from his and glared.
"I have a heart and I'd never use it to cheat on you!" She screamed angrily, emotions coursing through her body. What was he trying to accuse her of now? She hadn't done anything. Anything but love him and maybe that was it. Maybe that was what she had done.
He looked her straight into the eyes, bracing her with his hands. "You don't have to cheat on me to lie! You lied to me! Not physically, not telling lies. Forcing lies. You made me feel like I could be liable to you. To allow you a special pass to my innermost feelings. And you've manipulated that to your own needs. Do you know how I feel about your various friendships with different guys? I hate them! But I never tell you this because it would upset you!"
"Well, you're one to talk! You know that I couldn't possibly leave you...you know that." Tears were in Ginny's eyes now. "I love you and you know it. Don't you dare talk about me manipulating emotions because you know I love you and you cheat on me and I can't leave you! I can't!" Slowly, they created small tributaries along her cheek. Blaise reached to wipe her tears and she slapped his hand away. Trembling, she turned and ran towards the castle doors. Blaise followed her, catchly her near the Great Hall. Tears were clouding her vision and she could barely see. All of her crying was giving her a headache and she turned.
"What the fuck do you want from me?!" She shrieked, pulling her hand exasperately. It landed at her side with a smack and she focused her red rimmed eyes on him. He pulled her close, enveloping her into a hug. He was surprised she had let him hug her. Or touch her. At all.
"Ginny, don't. You know I love you more than anything." He said gently, brushing her hair down.
"You don't show it." She said quietly, her voice completely gone. She couldn't speak normally.
She gently pried herself from him, stepping away slowly. "It's hard to display how I feel. I was never good with showing my feelings to others. I've tried."
"You're not...you're not going to lie to me anymore. Either you change for me or I leave." She said, in a hoarse voice. Turning on her heel, she headed towards her Common Room. Blaise would make the right decision. Or at least he would lie.
