I don’t know if there’s going to be much call for this but twistedchick got me to thinking and I really do think that there are some folks out there that would like to have a community where they can go to in order to either request an author’s thoughts on a story they’d written or to request a DVD commentary for a story that they simply adore to pieces and want to know more about it or the process in creating a piece of work that touched them. Of course we’re going to need authors that are willing to participate and have the time to indulge us fanfic
stalkers admirers.
So feel free to join up, make suggestions in this post and spread the word. Keep in mind that this is a baby community but we are going to have some ground rules. There’s only a few for now and they’re pretty much structured on common sense.
- Be respectful in your requests. No demanding. It’s strictly up to the writer whether they have the time or the inclination to put in a few more hours with a story they’ve created and put to bed. We don’t want to be a whining nancy if we don’t get what we want. Though I have to admit I feel like being one more than once in a while, we are not entitled to receive more than what the author wishes to give. ;)
- When responding to either a request or to an author - choose your words carefully. Criticism is fine, but there will be no flaming. Do it once and you’re out of the community.
- When posting a request, please use the appropriate tags and check to make sure that the author is part of the community. It would be a shame for someone's request to fall on deaf ears.
- Authors with commentary or a Meta post may post it to the community or link to the page. They don’t have to be in response to a request, if you’ve done one in the past and think others are interested, they’re more than welcome as well. You can volunteer here.
