Usopp hasn't been a pirate long, but he's already seeing another village that may be destroyed. He's already seeing people struggling with the decision to either run out of fear or fight even though they know they have no chance of winning.
He refuses to just let it all happen right before his very eyes.
No, he doesn't know what that certain shop on the corner specializes in selling, and he doesn't know who lives in the small, run-down house next to it. He can't name one single person in the entire place, and he doesn't know who's known for being the most troublesome, the most creative, the most capable of being a liar.
But he doesn't care, because he's Captain Usopp. He doesn't care, because he's a brave warrior of the sea, and he won't allow this to happen. If he could save one village, then he can save another, and a million more afterward. He can do anything he wants and he can be strong and proud.
And so, he uses what little time the village has left to prepare the most dangerous attack that he possibly can and doesn't think twice about fleeing from those who need him the most at this very moment, because this is who he truly is.
