Had Dormagus been anyone but himself, he would have been surprised, probably even terrified, by the sudden appearance of Darkdevil in his room. As Dormagus was who he was, he was only mildly startled, and even then that was only because Darkdevil had managed to get past his wards. “What happened this time?”
Darkdevil pulled his mask off and sank into the only chair in the room that wasn’t filled with Dormagus’ things, shuddering as his face shifted from the demonic visage to that of Reilly Tyne, ace attorney. “I think I messed up,” he said in a surprisingly young voice.
Sometimes, it was easy to forget that Reilly was just a kid, even after everything that had happened to him in his short life.
Dormagus crouched in front of him, taking Reilly’s shaking hands in his own. “Tell me.”
