Wilson sighed as he got out of bed, stretching as he did. He was grateful for the fact that he didn’t really have to sleep on the couch anymore at House’s apartment. They had their fun with the practical jokes - more House than him - but they made up with it. With Wilson apologizing more than House did and mostly for the fact that he sawed House’s cane in half.
After a quick shower and shave, he dressed and moved to the kitchen to make something to eat. He got out the eggs and bacon as well as the pans to cook them with. That didn’t take long either as Wilson sat down at the table to eat. It was just at that moment that House came into the kitchen and took a piece of bacon. Wilson sighed and looked up at him. “There is more in the fridge. You could cook your own.”
“But that would take work,” House said as he sat down across from Wilson. “And I only want the one piece,” he said as he slowly munched on it.
“You say that now,” Wilson said as he started to eat his eggs. He had thought this would happen and made himself more bacon than he would normally eat. Therefore, he would be able to have the amount of bacon he wanted and House would eat his amount of bacon. Seemed fair enough to his mindset and hopefully his plan would work.
“Well, I mean it this time,” House said as he finished his piece of bacon and looked to Wilson’s plate. “Unless you just want to give me some of your bacon and therefore I wouldn’t have to look at it.”
Wilson sighed as he took three more pieces off of his plate and gave them to House. “There.”
“Thanks,” House said and then looked at Wilson’s egg.
“I am not giving you any of my eggs,” Wilson said as he continued to eat his breakfast.
“Skimpy breakfast then,” House replied.
“Eggs are in the fridge and you can find them easily enough. You could even cook with one hand or just rest against the counter. I am not giving you what I cooked,” Wilson said, attempting to keep the snark out of his voice.
“Fine,” House said as he put up his hands in defeat. He rarely did it, but he knew that he was coming up to the line that should not be crossed with Wilson. He had to relearn there was a line, just like he did every time Wilson came back from a wife or girlfriend. “You’re going to work today?”
“Yes House. It’s Monday. If you’re ready in a half hour, I’ll drive you,” Wilson said as he watched House get up and go towards the bathroom for a shower. Wilson sighed softly and just ate the rest of his breakfast in silence. He knew that House didn’t ask the question to know the answer, but to annoy. Wilson knew House was doing more and more of that. He wasn’t about to ask why. He was just going to finish his breakfast in silence.
