uuuuh...Disillusion. I come from reading the drabble "Light" and I find the contrast in Kitty's attitude and view of her situation and the place she has moved in quite accurate and faithful to the change we perceived from her in the film.

Kitty was used to parties and noise and chitchat and people. She liked to be the centre of attention and enjoyed it so much that being in a faraway place full of strangers with a reserved scientist for a husband bores has broken all the dreams she had about becoming the young novelistic heroine of her own story.

I must confess that I don't really like Kitty. I have no idea what Walter saw in her (apart from that she's very beautiful). I think she does improve and mature muchly in the film, but still... meh.

I loved how you depicted the playful tone she used and then him using it back thinking she's interested and really she isn't.

I also liked how the last line actually sounded like Kitty's way of speaking especially the "that counted for something." Very clever.
