Title: Finding Out the Past
Fandom: Constantine - General Movie
Characters: Chas Kramer
Prompt: #24 - Family
Word Count: 726
Rating: PGish
Summary: Chas gets a note that he never excepted to get.
Author's Notes: This is two things that are somewhat frowned upon in the fanfic100 community. How so - this is an AU and a crossover with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and White Wolf’s Demon the Fallen. The crossover with WW makes it so that Chas has a demon trapped inside of his body that John doesn’t realize and the demon has a past life. Do read at your own risk. If you flame me for it after reading that disclaimer, I am going to laugh at you.

Chas decided that it would be best to pull over and take a slight nap. It wasn’t that he was completely tired, but just that he needed to take a break during his eleven hour shift. It was thankless but at least it gave him a lot of money to live on. Besides, he only did it on the days where he was sure that John wouldn’t need him for anything. He left the light off so that if needed, someone could open the door and get in the back for a ride. It had only been a few minutes, or at least it felt like that, when he heard someone open the door and get in. Chas sat up and looked in the back, grinning ear to ear as he saw his best friend. “You know there are better ways to get in touch with me rather than get in the backseat, Az.”

“Well, I tried your cell and you weren’t picking up,” Azrael said. The demon in the backseat was the head of the Malefactors and best friend of Joahaz, the demon inside and controlling Chas’ body. “Also, you got mail and it looks all important, so I thought I would bring it to you. Its from someone called Mutt Williams. I’ve never heard of such a person, but it feels like it has a few books inside it too.”

Chas thought for a moment and moved his hand back to take the offered package from Az. “Mutt…why does that sound so familiar…” he opens the package and watches as two journals fall out along with a note. One of the journals opens up to a description on how to pass the jump from the mouth of God. The other showed how to get to the grave of Francisco de Orellana. The note just looked like it had a few lines on it. He picked it up and read, out loud, “The bike is located in Nazcia. Get it to Az, and dad’s whip is in his grave. Remember - archeology, not grave robbing.”

“Where the hell is Nazcia?” Az asked.

“Peru,” Chas says. “It’s the start of some geoglyphs that go between that city and Palpa. They’re used to find Akator, the Lost City of Gold. Except that Akator was washed away when the Russians sent the insane psychic lady that only wanted knowledge.”

“Sounds like a Tremere,” Az said with a snort.

“Worse than a Tremere,” Chas replied. “She wanted all of it and damn the consequences. At least the Tremere know the consequences and will stop most, if not all, of the time.”

“You’re just protecting them because you like them,” Az teased.

“I am not protecting them,” Chas said. “I am just explaining. So, are you coming or not?”

”To where?” Az asked.

”Nazca,” Chas replied. “The note said to bring you.”

”Only if you explain how you knew all of that, including a psycho Russian lady,” Az replied.

“Well, I think it’s a past life, but I’m a bit fuzzy on the details. ‘Archeology, not grave robbing’ sounds like something familiar…” Chas sighed and closed his eyes, leaning his head back on the head rest. As he did, images flashed before his eyes, including going over three different waterfalls. He sat up again and turned on the car, going towards the airport.

“Um…where are we going?” Az asked.

“Airport,” Chas replied.

“Why?” Az asked.

“Because its easier than using what we actually have for powers,” Chas answered quickly. “I remember now. I remember all of it. Mutt Williams, the body I was in last, was the son of archeologist Indiana Jones.”

Az blinked, wondering if his best friend was going insane. He could understand it, having to follow around the demon hunter while being a demon all the time. “Um, Chas, dear friend, he’s a fictional character.”

“Actually, no, he’s not,” Chas replied. “Its better to just say that instead of saying based on real events because nobody is going to believe it otherwise. So we’re going, to get my bike, and then come back and you’re going to fix it.”

“Oh fine,” Az said with a chuckle as he sat back in the seat and let Chas drive them to the airport. And then to Nazca and back, finding Jones’ grave and the whip that belong to his son.
