2 frakking papers to go. I'm frightened, eager, and exhausted.

D is for Danessa
Decromancy and Decoupage- You know I had to do it. I really like making up words, and Jenna, Jason, and I are particularly fond of the first one. The other one I did not make up, but like accoutrements, it is fun to say. Also, a nice addition to any metal song. Look out for my future metal band’s (which will be called “Upside Down Puffy Taco,” but in German. German makes anything more metal.) cover of the Strong Bad Classic. It occurs to me that anyone who reads this journal by accident would think I am crazy.
Dolls- I do not like Dolls, Sam I am/ I do not trust them and their hands of jam/ Behind their plastic eyes they hide a malevolent scam/ No, I Do not like them Sam I am.
Dancing- Fun, and something I’m impressively unskilled at, particularly when there are specific proscribed steps.
Doodles- I do doodles, you do doodles too. Man, I singularly suck at drawing. Aside from my motor skill issues, I lack the patience and type of brain that lends itself to attention to detail. So I always appreciate the idle doodle of mine that resembles something found in nature. There’s this loopy guy I draw that I like, he kind of looks like something that might have been on The Electric Company. Speaking of drawing, I think someone owes me some drawings. :Clears throat: Then again I also owe him several quality letters.
Disco Duck- Okay, embarrassing revelation time. This song, sung by Donald Duck to the tune of “Macho Man” was apparently a childhood favorite of mine. (I also remember I was always delighted by my Dad’s impersonation of Donald.) I was under 4, ok? I can make no accounting of my taste. Speaking of inexplicable childhood favorites…
Dirty Dancing- “Nobody puts Baby in the corner!” Which, yes still awesome, but what does that even mean? Can someone explain to me why I, along with a significant number of other little girls in the late 80s, watched this movie repeatedly? Were there no children’s movies in the 80s? It was about sex, forbidden love across class lines, and abortion at some campy resort in the 50s. The hell? I was 4. What did I like about this movie? I guess there’s the underdog theme, or maybe Patrick Swayze’s bronzed and strong jaw reminded me of bears. Hell if I know.
Drugs- Well, they’ve probably made the world more interesting. They’ve also contributed to increase class stratification, and saved lives, and taken them, and given Texas youth a wildly unsuccessful school program. Possession shouldn’t be against the law, but the sentences for traffickers should be strict.
Decussatio- A term I fell in love with when reading up on my neurophysiology. It means “crossover,” like when nerves connecting one side of the body cross to feed to other side of the brain. The left side of your brain controls the right side of your body and vice versa because of a decussatio.
Dalliance- The reason for this entry and this journal as a whole.
Dogs- Lauren and my mom would disown me if I didn’t include them on this list. I feel a definite affinity with dogs, and I hope to have one or two of my own in the future.
