Drachenwolle Sock Yarn: Gray-Beige, Green Blue
After a week and a half of waiting and finding out that some delivery
guys are plainly incapable of looking further than just the name of the
recipient and the address and thus totally missed the "c/o" - and so
didn't find my name on the doorbell and just sent the package back to the depot *rant*....
Drachenwolle Sock Yarn: Gray-Beige, Rust, Teal
....anyway,
I got a writing from the delivery service saying that my package was
back in the depot and that I should ring them up to clarify my
address...so I did.
Yesterday when I came home from the German
Knitting Group, I found a little orange card saying that there was a
package delivered to me but I wasn't home....and to my delight, they
were able to gave the package to one of my neighbours. I rang their
doorbell and they were even home!
Drachenwolle Sock Yarn: Gray-Beige, Teal, Magenta
So, yes, that's the content of my package!!! Four yummy hanks of sock yarn from
Drachenwolle!!
She's the second German Indie Dyer I ordered something from. And I
really love the stuff! The colours are beautifully muted (I think that
the base yarn wasn't bleached, that's why the dyes are muted). The
great thing about the yarn is the fibre content itself: 70% virgin
wool, 20% silk and 10%
ramie! And at EUR 8.90 per hank, it's such a bargain! (You get 400 m in a hank of 100 g).
Drachenwolle Sock Yarn: Gray-Beige, Purple, Red
The
yarn has a slight halo to it. The twist is pretty much like Regia. The
ramie makes the yarn feels a bit papery, but I think it's comparable to
the feel I got from Zitron's Trekking Pro Natura. The colours have this
shining gleam to it, I assume that this property came from the silk
content in the yarn. All in all, I really like this yarn! The only
thing left now is to knit it up and see how it will hold (the ramie
would make the yarn pretty durable for sock wearing, so I won't worry
about that).
The dilemma I'm facing now is: Which colourway
first?! Which sock pattern? Or should I do something else with it and
not socks? Although I'm feeling like knitting up another pair of toe-up
Jaywalkers with one of these. ;-) What do you think?
