Easter and my cat being silly

Easter weekend was a busy one for my family but it was still a nice holiday.  It was actually the first Easter in three years that all of us were healthy.  Woohoo!

Saturday, a lady from church hosted an Easter egg hunt for all the primary kids.  200 eggs were hidden in the woods behind her house and the kids had a blast running around trying to find them.  It was also an incredibly gorgeous day.

Sunday morning,T woke up all excited to see what was in his Easter basket and to have an egg hunt in the house.  He was pretty happy with the loot he got (from both the Easter bunny and my parents).  And although I tried to make the egg hunt challenging, that boy is too smart and only struggled to find 1 of the eggs (which he happened to be standing right in front of at the time he was ready to give up).  Here's what he got:

Yesterday, I was watching an episode of "Life" that I DVR'd from the Discovery Channel.  It was the one on birds.  My cat, Sammi, came downstairs during the last ten minutes and sat on my lap.  But she only stayed there for a few seconds because as soon as she heard the birds on the surround sound and saw them on the TV, she was off stalking them.  She came to a stop right in front of the TV where she sat, watching intently, no doubt trying to figure out how to get the birds out the magic box and into her belly.

It was almost as funny as the time she faceplanted into the screen door of our picture window/sliding glass door leading out to the balcony of our first apartment after we got married.  She still hadn't fully adjusted to being a 100% indoor cat yet and when she saw a couple of birds strutting across the balcony railing, she did the little butt-wiggle thing cats do and then pounced, smashing into the screen door.  She looked around to see if we'd noticed then started washing her paws as if to say, "I don't know what you saw, but I've been here washing my paws this whole time."

randomness, holidays
